what gasket sealer works best?

i have been having problems gettin my water pump in my 97 blazer to seal right... ive tried the permatex black gasket maker and im havin no luck. i seem to keep blowin the gaskets out. when i change the water pump in my 98 gmc i never had this problem, but it think i used a different gasket sealer. i cant remeber what kind i used on that truck. any help on what everyone uses would be helpful. im gona try another water pump and new gaskets this weekend thats why i was wondering.

one the best going right there, but I would check to make sure that ABSOLUTEY all the old gasket is off the block first (a good scraper and then sandpaper or a gasket removal pad http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawe...SevTSeSSSSSS--)
if even a small peice remains it will let the pump sit off enough to allow a path for leaking to occur. I may not change them everyday but I've sod enough and seen this before to know a common solution. And yes even the professional rush tgrough the simple job and have this issue sometimes.

The last sealer you'll ever use!! I use it on intake gasket bolts. No oil seepage anywhere.
