What starter will clear the LS3 sensors?

I'm installing an LS3. Believing the motor to be essentially the same as the 2010 Camaro, I ordered the starter for a 2010 Camaro.

It doesn't clear; it runs into the crank position sensor right above it.

You can't clock or rotate this one in any way, it's all cast.

Does anyone know what starter WILL clear the LS3's sensors and bolt into place? I could try a truck starter, but it's not a truck motor, so that's just a guess. Since I already have to eat this starter (too late to return) I'd rather get it right the next time!

Pictures and a part number would help. Really only 2 choices, one from the Camaro LS3 and the Vette LS3. The 5th Gen Camaro starter is the same as the Trailblazer SS, and G8 (Delco number 12617229). The Vette LS3 number is 10465385 and fits damn near every other LS engine out there. Does your starter have 2 long bolts or a long and a short? Never heard of any issues with the solenoid hitting on either of them to be honest.

I ordered 12617229, two equal length bolts, in line. It runs straight into the crank position sensor above it.

I don't mean it was close, I mean you'd have to remove the sensor entirely. And the starter can only go in one way, and is non-clockable or reversible.

I'm a big fan of factory starters, but wound up ordering a Powermaster fully clockable unit.

Had I not ordered the Powermaster this morning I'd order the Vette unit. Where were you yesterday? :-)
