55.2-59 Brake/Turn signal wiring

Would somebody be willing to send me a picture of the brake/turn signal wiring for a 58 Apache TIA

most tf trucks i've owned had the signal-stat 900 turn switch, it looks like an add-on but isn't
only 1 truck had the built-in switch in the column

turn/brake wiring can be confusing, in the pre-internet days all i had was a motors manual, it was worthless
the biggest thing to remember is that your brake lights are your turn signals
6 wires: 2 are hot in, the other 4 go to each corner of your truck
one hot is from the flasher, the other hot in is from the brake light switch
there is no other wire coming off the brake light switch, only to the turn signal switch
tail lights and front running lights come off the headlight switch

modern turn signals wiring is 7 wire, cuz they break out the turn flasher and hazard flasher
any aftermarket wiring harness is 7 wire, if you look closely blue and yellow are combined in the signal-stat 900




to add to the confusion, our trucks have no fuse panel from the factory
both brake/turn and tail/running lights get power from the headlight switch
orange text brake & turn is the feed to the brake light switch and thus into the turn signal switch
black text is tail lights and wires directly to the tail lights
purple text is front running lights, they turn off when headlights are on

on a new wiring harness you will have a separate fuse for turn flasher and hazard flasher
you would not wire these from the headlight switch

Rob have you got the stock turn signal switch or an aftermarket switch like Ogre showed?

I am assuming that you have the stock switch and searched some yesterday but didn't find a diagram that was easy enough to read.

Thank you so much for the diagram Ogre.
I do have the stock light switch but I have an ididit column/turn signal indicator. Ibough some new wiring for the brake/indicator lights because what I have is the original and a bit crusty. I'm going to replace what I can before I install my new bed wood....stained ebony with satin clear coat. I'll post pictures of that when I'm done. Ididit columns usually use the turn signal switch that is the same as most 77/83 Chevy turn signal switches.

The two diagrams should help and here is a link to one with a 67 Pontiac column that we did 9 years ago that should have all the answers you need.

Note not all the wires on the switch in your column might get used on your truck. That isn't an issue as you use what you need to do what you need to do when you are using it in an old truck.

nothing aftermarket with having a signal-stat on a tf truck, they were all factory installed
my 56 6800 school bus had a factory self-cancelling signal stat on it
either way, they all wire the same
