Re: project (sweet pea)

I read all 25 pages in last 2 days and have to say U have done 1 helluva job and that color is great and I bet it pops in the sun. Just watched the episode on trucks explaining that water born paint. I think I learned a couple tricks from this thread. Thank you for all the pics, it sure does make it easy to see what u are talking about. I know what I am going to use for paint when time comes for my beast. oooh ya forgot long beds rule. Congrats again on 1 sick paint job. So how many hours in body do u think u have?

Whats in the bed? Is it a bed liner or zolatone? I used zolatone so I dont have to worry about alot of scratches.

Re: project (sweet pea)

74chevy454..Thanks...I like the waterbourne...I like solvent also, but water has a better look IMO.The colors are crazy......As far as how much time i have in body work? i am going to guess around 120 to160 hours total body...I have roughly 500 in everything to date...

John the inside of the bed as of now is just factory...I am going to remove the wheel tubs and use some that i seen from Jegs...Then i will have everything done in Line X...I may even do the hurculiner stuff....I have a buddy doing his...And will check his out...Sweet Pea will not see much hauling, so mainly i am just looking for appearance rather than it taking a beating....

Re: project (sweet pea)

Is the green a custom mix color? I read through the whole thread and I didn't see where it was listed. I could have missed it.

I like the color alot. I am planning on a simular color for my 48.

Good luck
Marc

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. I have been trying to match a 2008 Kawasaki green color called "Candy Lime Green". I tried to buy the paint from Kaw but it was crazy expensive.

Take a look at this site. The color reminds me of yours.

It looks awesome in the sun.

Thanks and good luck

The truck is looking awesome Tony... It's nice to see it all one color but isn't it based on a "C10-Driver" color - Could have sworn I've seen it somewhere before .

All kidding aside, you've done a fantastic job on the finishing. That's something that gets missed a lot these days - Definitely top notch work that you should be proud of.

I hear ya........ color is very hard to simulate or look at on a computer screen. Especially a three stage color with a candy.
This color is a lot brighter then it looks on that web site.

I was able to get my hands on a side cover from the a motor cycle so I am going to send it off to a friend to match. I would like to have it mixed as a two stage, but we will have to see how it looks. I know that the color wound look as good as a three stage.

Re: project (sweet pea)

mike i think? i will have to double check....But i think they are 315/40/17....They are pretty wide.. about 13 inches...The rims are 17/12 in the rear..and 17/10 in the front.....I am looking to go taller in the rear....But i don't have any room to go wider....Any suggestions.....?

Re: project (sweet pea)

Tony...you sure of that size. If you could verify it maybe there's a manufacturer that makes a 315 with a taller sidewall. Let me know if it's indeed 315/40/17
