Spartan Locker in 65 12 bolt Issue

Bought a Spartan Locker for my 65, after I install the side couplers where the thrust washers were , the axles and c clips, the center pin does not fit between the axles. Spartan is telling me the 65 had an early narrow carrier and I cant use the locker but have to buy a whole new wide style carrier with limited slip, I'm pissed, $350 down the drain, has anyone ever heard of this and maybe know some option's, I really don't want to put my spiders back in.

No one ? I'm at a loss. Trying to get thru to Spartan ? Randys is a battle. I hate to have to do a new carrier and have to reset the clearances etc.

I still have an open diff in mine, so I'm no help here.

I don't know if it would be detrimental to the integrity of the axle shafts, but could you shave down the ends a little until the pin fits through again?

You would have to remove so much from the axles the C clips couldn't hold. I was thinking maybe c clip eliminators, but I think they are expensive and need machine work.
