Chevy Truck Bucket Seats?

Any one use these types of seats in their truck? I like that they have the seat belt integrated. They look like they would be comfortable too. Just concerned if they would fit in place with or if the raised part where the seat belt comes out would interfere with the side of the cab.

I've been through a few seats latelty. Picked up a really nice bench seat out of a mid-90s For for 16 at Pick N Pull. Went in there but a bit too wide, the doors had to push in on the seat to close.

A guy down the steet from me let me try a seat out of his 64 Chevy. The back wouldn't fit.

Finally I have a Split back bench out of a 72 Chevell that I think has a really cool look. It's about 53 in. wide but seems a bit too narrow. Also, it just doesn't seem to have the springs like a newer seat has, may not be as comgortable on long hauls. Mines the black one below. The white one in the pick looks very similar.

Thats a clean looking install. I have my 72 Chevelle seat in there now sitting on 4x4 wood blocks and was going to get some 3x3 square tubing to mount them to. I think I'm going to go with your idea now.

I like the buckets but I think the split back bench is way cooler looking. I talked to a guy about the Chevy buckets that come out of the 1999-2006 and he said he liked them though you had to sit them up straighter because the seat belt portion hit the cab (may work better on a 5-window). Or, maybe you could swap them side to side?

If anyone wants a pair there's a salvage yard in KC called All Star Auto Parts that quoted me a price of $200, both with power.

Re: Chevy Truck Bucket Seats?

is it a big back window?

couple of things to consider. I found ones out of an Escalade with power you have to becareful that you do not push out the big back window. I like the seat belt thing but when I measured it did not leave me much leg room. I stuck with the original because I want to just have it upholstered. I also did not like the fact that in my Big back window those seats with the seat belt attached to the seat would look stupid blocking 3/4 of my view. If I would change I would use one from a second row or third row seat from like a Tahoe or similiar. Just go find the seat you want and your bring your measuring tape also measure the width because it might be hard to close your doors. BTW my cab is a 1956 3100. You can make almost any seat work just depends on your height. Also seat adjust might be limited especially if you still have your gas tank in the cab. just my .02

Re: Chevy Truck Bucket Seats?

Hussy I used seats from 2001 chev suburban that look identical to yours in my 49 suburban. Seatbelts in the seat works great but you need to think about reinforcing under floorboard when you mount seats since seat must take all the stress if you have an accident. Since I had room I moved seats back a few inches, put the rear of the seat on the raised portion of the
Bed and built risers in the front. Good luck w the build

Re: Chevy Truck Bucket Seats?

I used an 07 Yukon leather third row seat. I wanted the seat tilt/flip and quick removal. They have the seatbelts built in, passenger/driver shoulder and center lap. They are thinner than the front seats. They do not have tilt or slide adjustment, but in most truck full back is where they end up. I made my frame with pivot at the back and vertical adjustment bolts at front. here are some pics, one from the back to show the minimal intrusion into the window. I am 5'6" so they are set a little higher than a bigger person would place them. I used the area underneath for pull out storage and future stereo location.
