No problem getting gas around here, friends have said the same in LA (just the news hyping it up).
Sounds like you’re this side of MS River, but be aware a main bridge crossing it on I-40 is closed in Memphis, so avoid that cluster.
Sweet,
I’m going to head south into Louisiana
Let you know if I’ll end up in Mississippi
Thanks for reaching out

Re: Let’s see where the wind blows me

thank you Larry n Eric, y'all keep sending pictures and have a good time!

Larry, whatever you do don't give Eric any small beers or you'll never hear the end of it

save a spot for me in the rv caravan 2026 and I'll join you.. ours is a blue oval but Larry's freightliner can tow it and I'll drive his truck

I'll be on the farm this july, if yer passing through kc area let me know.. maybe we could round up Joe and some others in the area and have our own truck mini-meet in the county, bonfire and fireworks show..

Re: Let’s see where the wind blows me

Our son lives there
I’ll park the motor home and fly back to California
To take care of a few things
The following weekend I’ll fly back
With my wife and daughter for a weekend family visit
Then, finish the road trip up to New England

Re: Let’s see where the wind blows me

Yes, those cattle guard bars were quite popular. Several brands were available. Smash-hit was a popular brand. The one you have pictured is the same one I have, the Safe Guard out of Fort Worth, Texas.

I recognized those right off! Those bumps in the water in the last picture are cypress "knees". They are popular with wood carvers, and mostly I see them made as a Father Christmas figure. I have one that I have yet to carve.

Yes, I believe I read something about how they flared out to help steady the trees roots system in the mud ?

Re: Let’s see where the wind blows me

Given the winds those things see when a hurricane blows through, spreading out some roots seems like a good idea.

We only have snow about 8 or 10 months out of the year.

It is really nice here right now, but don't worry I'm sure it won't last too long.

I'm getting my campsite next door pretty well cleared out, but I still need to get somebody with a backhoe or something to cut down the access off the country road. Some years ago the county grader gouged it out so there is about a two foot bank jumping up into the driveway

You are hard core
I’ve seen some of those trips you take
I wouldn’t even try
This trip has been good weather throughout
Started raining last night and looked like it was going to continue
When I left this morning
So, I turned around and headed north

Just so happened

Did you have to turn in your pocket knife before entering?
