Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Well, not really much to report other than I mocked up the hydroboost unit and plumbed the brake lines.

The morning dew makes the painted frame a not look good in the pic. But the paint is smooth and nice. I used Kustom Shop's epoxy primer and satin black. It sprayed really nice. But the paint is smooth and nice. I used Kustom Shop's epoxy primer and satin black. It sprayed really nice. So for anyone looking for some Satin black and epoxy primer for their frame this may be the ticket. It really was not expensive and you will have enough left to do your suspension parts also.

Of course there is I'm using an adjustable one it's mounted in line towards the rear. I also have the residual valves installed, but you can't see them. Remember just because you don't see it does not mean its not there.lol Its like magic. Well not really.lol

Did you read post 1231. I said I'm running an in-line adjustable one. Reading is fundamental at least for those of us that can.lol This is the one I have.

See now you are acting like you know me. That would be my problem, over thinking it.lol I did this during mockup I did not like the clearances for my drive shift. I worried myself silly until I came up with this. It gave me about 3 inches more clearance.

Than I decided the paint on the frame was too glossy for my taste so I stripped it all off and used the Satin Black. I'm sick and I know it but at least I own up to it.lol

This truck should have been done by now. Its just sad that its not.

So in other words buddy, I over think everything. This truck should have been done by now. Its just sad that its not.lol
I can tell you haw many cross members that I have done and pulled apart because I did not like them afterwards.

I found a good solution (for me only) to the cross member hitting the drive shaft scenario. Lower the engine. Get better (lower) center of gravity. I needed to move the engine back a few inches to achieve this it and had to redo the firewall. This gets me a better front to back weight ratio also. The only issue that I see is that the engine looks like a peanut in the engine compartment. Overall, a lot of work.

Yep and lowering the engine was not an option for me. I love the position of my engine. Not too high and not to low. Just right in my opinion.

Anyway I've been blocking the heck out of the cab. Its still not to my satisfaction but its getting there. Here is the firewall, its coming out pretty good but I want to block it a little more before paint. Its pretty straight but not where I want it.

Yeah, lowering the engine is not for everyone. Makes it look so small in the compartment. Where did it go? Firewall looks great!

Looking good, brake lines are clean. I think we're still pretty much tied, although if I was doing any substantial amount of body work you'd be pulling ahead

Thanks man. I'm a lot further along than it looks actually. All rust repair, mods, and mockup is done.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Yes sir I did, thank you very much.
I am going to order those soon also.
I have to lower my engine so it fits in the compartment . it sits very high due to the C-10 front clip. Plus it should help with my steering linkage issue.
