Rack and pinion for 65 C10 drag truck?

Hey all, I've got and building a 65 C10 short bed stepside. It's got a Gen 1 355 cid. sbc, 8.5: cr, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, Torker 2 intake
twin 63 mm turbos air to air cooler, coilovers front and rear, wilwood slotted and drilled discs up front and aerospace disc in the rears, its a back half ladder bar, dana 60 w/ spool. 35 spline gun drilled axles. 4.56 gear, 8.50 cage (getting built) C02 Holley high flow boost control, air shifter w/ a Holley sniper Xflow 1375 kit. it's got 15X15X30 rear slicks and skinny front runners. Its making aprox. 750 or so HP. Holley efi is running timing control on a hyperspark ignition system. With that being said,
I am looking for a manual rack and pinion. I've been searching for literally hours and come up with but kiss. I find power racks all over the place but as far as a manual rack goes......... I mide as well be pulling my own wisdom teeth out with a vice grips so, I am reaching out to the community to see what they have come up with or know what, where, and who to contact about this conundrum I always seem to get into. Any of you guys/gals put one in a 60-66 C10 pickup? and what's the difference between a panel truck frame and a pickup frame? I've found manual for panel trucks but thats about it. well, or bagged trucks (and a lot of em lol)
Ant help would be sweeter than the lady up the block at this point although she is pretty nice lol
Thanks for reading

Nice truck

As far as steering is concerned, there is absolutely no difference between a Suburban/Panel frame and a C10,20 or 30 frame.

Back when we raced, we used opel gt r&p on everthing we built..requires some minor fab work ,but it's a nice compact manual unit

Re: Rack and pinion for 65 C10 drag truck?

I had a Mustang II rack on my old stock style front suspension. I have a Pinto style rack on there now. When setting up a R&P, the bump steer is very important. I didn't set mine up correctly the first time.

Do you mind taking a few pictures of if for me when you get time? This is something I really want to do and was advised to do by some people who had a lot more knowledge about going down the track than I do for sure. Getting rid of the sloppy steering is a real safety upgrade foa as fast as I plan to go. I’m shooting for a mid to lower 9 second in the quarter but we’ll see what happens when I get everything all worked out with the new build. Thanks
