WTB - OEM rear sport bumper brackets off a 2WD, SWB with leaf springs

I ask that any pitting or damage be negligible. The brackets for a 2WD, SWB with leaf springs differ from other brackets, even the outer brackets are different. Not sure how yet, but I know the bolt pattern (5.3/10").

Not oem, but if I recall correctly these are what you need. Bought a set of these quite a few years ago and they were good quality. Matched oem very well. https://www.classicparts.com/1967-72...nfo/65%2D348B/

Rumor is the brackets you posted work for my truck. They don't, but can I ask what you installed them on?

For what it's worth, here's some info. about the parts. Incidentally, my frame is a 5.3/10" bolt pattern. The reason my application is different is a 5" bolt pattern wouldn't clear the shackle bracket. That and it's SWB frame, so the rear hole has to be further back in the frame rail.

I believe all the rest are a 5" bolt pattern. http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=22606

3885614 - Chrome Rear Bumper Bar. 67-72 C-10-20 (Sub, Fleetside) Blazer

3890391-2 - Inner Brackets. 71-72 Ser. 10-30 (Stepside, Fleetside) and more.
Reads excludes leaf springs. Found an NOS on the Chevy site, it’s the bracket folks call “coil spring” inner brackets. The same part was used for the front bumper on 67-70 "pick-ups" (excludes 4x4)

3952089-90 - Inner Brackets. 69-72 Ser. 10-20 (4WD) (Pick-up)
Reads Rr. Bumper, which is rear bumper. No NOS available for reference. These are likely what folks call “4x4” inner brackets (see Richard's link for reference).

3891985-86 - Inner Brackets. 68-72 SWB 2WD with leaf springs.
No reference found on the web for this bracket. Not surprising. My Chevy is an outcast

3891987-88 - Outer Brackets. 68-72 SWB 2WD with leaf springs.
My outer brackets are an oddity as well........... There are quite a few hits on the web for this outer bracket, reproductions. They're referencing the wrong part number. Been 50 years now, stuff gets lost. The brackets they're selling fit everything but a 71 SWB 2WD with leaf springs, I can't speak for other years.

3892477-78 - Outer Brackets. 71-72 and more. Ser. 10-30 (Conv., 4WD), Blazer (Stepside, Fleetside) and more.
Reads “Aux. leaf springs excluded”. Can’t say what an “Aux.” leaf spring is, but OK.
This is the common outer bracket. Found an NOS on the Chevy site, looks like the typical outer bracket. Other than that nothing found on the web.

If the center of that round hole is 11/16" from the end of the bracket they're the common outer brackets.

Re: WTB - OEM rear sport bumper brackets off a 2WD, SWB with leaf springs

Assuming those are the common outer brackets Sawman, I already have a nice set of OEM. Have a nice set of inner "coil" spring brackets too. I won't punch a new hole in the frame, otherwise the "4x4" inner brackets (Richard's post) would work. Requires a little fab. too.

I believe I've figured out how to make the coil spring brackets work. The rear hole is 6/10" further back than most frames. But my bolt pattern is 3/10" longer. So use the front hole in the bracket as intended to take up half the distance. Better than 6/10" off, I've seen it, their plan using 4x4 brackets was a train wreck.

Slice some of the top off the inner brackets to clear a shackle rivet. Simple fix.

Weld up the rear hole on the inner bracket, it's 3/10" off the frame hole, needs a new hole.

Weld up the hole in the outer bracket, it's 3/10" off the frame frame hole as well, needs a new hole. Also have to cut the front end of the bracket to clear the swell in the frame rail. 3/10" I'm guessing, but I'd go as close the swell as possible without damaging it.

There's probably an option to weld up all the holes that attach to the frame rail, start over, so it lines up per factory. I think there's enough of a platform on front of the outer brackets. But I'd rather have the correct brackets to begin with.

Re: WTB - OEM rear sport bumper brackets off a 2WD, SWB with leaf springs

I installed the brackets on my 72 4x4 SWB. The brackets in the following pics are OEM but are identical to the repop set I purchased. You can see the rear bolt hole is real close to the end of the frame like yours, the bolt towards the front actually goes through just above the shackle hanger in the notcted out section (you can kind of see in second pic). The bracket is also notched to clear the rivet holding the shackle hanger to the frame. to me it looks like the pics from Early classic match my brackets. Was always told the SWB 2wd leaf trucks and swb 4x4 brackets are the same. Believe the LWB 4x4 uses the standard bracket also used on coil spring trucks as there is no need to adjust for rear spring hanger. The SWB leaf trucks are the only oddball that needs different brackets is my understanding. (blazers to) Someone can correct me if wrong.

I may be off Richard, but that hole in your frame looks further back than 8/10" (post 15). Chance it's closer to 1.5"? That and you don't see you have a "swell" in the frame to clear. Speak of "swells" in the frame, there's one on each side of the front and rear shackle mounts, same on my C20. Don't know their purpose, but I guess they look nice

The "4x4" brackets don't work on this frame, despite the vendor and box saying otherwise. They're nothing like my frame, the first picture below shows why.

The second picture shows the front hole for the bumper bracket, and the shackle bracket. I think your hole for the bumper bracket is in the same location. Makes sense, it's center the shackle bracket.

The location of the front "swell" in the picture shows a frame casting imperfection. The same one on the other side is 1/8" further forward, which looks right. They installed the shackle brackets evenly, so you can see where the swell interferes with the shackle bracket. Probably too late to complain, warranty wouldn't cover it any how

Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM trucks, and to a lessor degree all 67-72 GM vehicles. My build thread, and more on the guide https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025

Had a factory step bumper. Shame I got rid of it, that was a long time ago. In those days I wasn't much mechanical. I hired a couple of guys to pull the old bumper and install sport bumper brackets. I pulled the brackets off a Blazer ("4x4" brackets). They installed those brackets. Matter of fact, they drilled through the brackets for the front holes, right near the "bite" demonstrated by the above picture (post 22). They're more slots than holes, there's not enough area for a hole.

At least they didn't drill through the frame. I'm certain my frame is factory right, no where else makes sense to have punched different holes
