Angry Window Rattle

What does it take to get rid of the window rattle? Is there a kit to replace all the guides or something?

Replacing the inner and outer bell weather strips usually takes care of the rattle. If not then new window channel front and back will. GMC Paul or any of the other vendors sell the kits and individual pieces. Jeff.

It only rattles when it's down. There's alot of movement in there. I guess i'll look at GMC Paul's site. I've ordered from him before was very happy with the service.
Thanks,

I know I am going to hear it on this one, but here goes. Every one of these trucks I have owned rattled when the window was down except one, a 72. For some reason GM put a screw in the door, in 72 only, right where the rattle was coming from. Coincidence?

After you put the new division bar, channel and inner-outer glass seals in if they still rattle pull your vent window out and weld the metal strap that holds the inner-outer door together. If there is a crack or break at the top of the door by the vent window running down you need to pull the door, dissamble it and weld a strap accross it inside to prevent more metal fatigue. Just welding the break will not work it needs a backing plate welded inside to stop the vibration that will in time fatigue and break the metal around the top door hinge. When we repair them here we take a 4" long x 2" tall piece from the top rear of a donor door and weld it into the cracked door then weld a 12" long x 6" tall backing plate in to prevent any more vibration fatigue. Don't forget the clip slot needs to line up with the inner-outer clips. (spelling?)

Thanks for the info. I need to replace the weather seals anyway, so I will shop around for the kit.
