My new 67 Aqua 85k original owner find

It has been repainted in 1973, at that time the original owner had the tank removed and had saddle bad tanks under the bed put in, it's riding baby moons with painted rims. sits up real high, cant decide if i like it this way or not. its the original factory stance.

radio delete, 4 speed granny low, 327. sounds amazing!

Clean truck. Kids must be having a great time crawling all over it. Suggest you drive it awhile then decide what to change. Or don't change a thing. It's all good.

I love it! The painted rims look sharp. Whatever you do, this one will look good

That is a real nice truck and looks like it is supposed to. How did an Illinois truck stay so clean over the years, or is it not an Illinois truck.

Very nice truck. Seeing the exhaust pipe exit underneath the saddle tank scares me, but if it's been that way since 71, drive on

Re: My new 67 Aqua 85k original owner find

I bought this truck from the 82 year old original owner. i had it shipped from NW Wyoming for $650. which is a steal i think... Since it has been a sand used and not salt like here in IL. I'm a little worried about the salt touching the perfect no rust underside. I bought this a my daily driver work truck, but in rare form it turned out way nicer than the pictures the guy had.

Re: My new 67 Aqua 85k original owner find

the exhaust is load coming out right there considering the cherrybombs underneath. i' considering running all new out the back. i had to replace all the brakes a few days after i received it. It's all manual, might add a buster but it stops well enough now. power steering would help too

Re: My new 67 Aqua 85k original owner find

That truck is nice DPM. Love the color! I believe I would find another daily driver work truck for the winters and park that one to keep it rust free IMHO

Oh, and welcome to the board.

How many guys are lucky enough to daily drive a nice/cool old truck. I would drive the snot outta that thing and smile all day long. Maybe invest in a power washer to keep it cleaned out underneath.
Enjoy it and build memories with the family.

Nice find, in a great color. IMO, the ultimate look would be achieved by dumping the chrome baby moons and white walls, and adding a set of original painted hubcaps and 7.00r-15 black wall truck tires. Trust me, the contrast of body, wheel and trim color will look amazing. 1967 was the last year for wheel color matching body color on tu tone 2WD trucks. Here are the caps to be looking for.(Just make sure they are the 10 1/4" back) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=680922

Nice find , Look like a solid truck ,but is it the picture or is there a issue with the rear axle seems as though the wheel is not centered to the well .

What a beautiful find. If you drive that through the Illinois winters you will ruin what that long time owner preserved so well for you. If it weren't for salt, you would still be seeing these trucks used as daily drivers in your area. But that's been 25 or more years now

Yeah, those are great! the original owner said that the truck had these on it when he bought it. but lost them on the road somehow... he put these on to replace. i get alot of compliments on the baby moons. everyone says, they havent seen them since the 70's

I think i'll look for a set of the OEM

my plan with this truck is to daily drive it, since it's been in storage since the 80's it just needs to be driven. then over time start to restore it back to original minus the gas tank

My sentiments exactly Coop.
And an 82 yr old guy running cherry bombs dumped out the side. Who would have thought it?
