Doors rattle
My doors were mismatched, rusted out but shut well and did not budge going down the road. I bought a nice set of matching 70' doors and had a body shop put them on with new hinge pins. Doors align well shut smooth and look great. Problem is they rattle like junk going down the road. I swapped out one of the star wheels to no avail. Door gasket is about 75% in place. Adjusting the plate on the cab made no difference. Of course, the body shop is out of business ( days after I picked up the truck ), so I have no recourse there. This is puzzling as the former doors that were junk held tight even over bumps. These make the ride so noisy I hate driving it! Any suggestions would be greatfully accepted.

Re: Doors rattle
The window tracks and felts are probably shot can you roll down the window a little and shake it and recreate the sound? Jim

Re: Doors rattle
Jim, the entire door bounces in and out although it is shut. The window tracks are too weak, but are holding the glass tight. Drivers door bangs as it moves in and out. I will add some dyna-mat to help with some road noise. Thanks!

Re: Doors rattle
Even though it shuts the latches are bad. I have had some that shut well but if you wiggle the door it will move, or even fly open going down the road. Brings back to mind my brother driving an old Datsun with a tarp strap from one door to the other when he would turn the corner doors would bounce open then flap like chicken wings. Funny was not the word for it!! Jim

Re: Doors rattle
Just a thought and I am by no means an expert, but on my 72, there are little round bumpers that the door hits when it's closed. They press into a hole on the door frame. Did they not re-install those perhaps?

Re: Doors rattle
Just a thought. Have you tried adjusting the striker plate ? If you loosen the 4 bolts that hold it it on there's alot of movement there. I adjusted mine by trial and error but it fixed the problem.
