What size tires are these and how much lift?

One of you guys posted these pictures and I saved them because I like the look. So take a shot at it because I don't know. The wheels are supposed to be the 9.75" wide 16.5's. So are those 33x12.50's, or are they something a little smaller that were purchased back when there were more options for 16.5 wheels? And what's the lift? Maybe just a couple inches?

Re: What size tires are these and how much lift?

ZAC, those look like 16.5 wheels. Absolutely 9.75 wide. Not so sure about the tires. Very well could be 33's. Here is a pic of my truck with 16.5 x 8.25 wheels and 31 x 10.5 BFG's. See if you can tell with this image. Hope this helps. David

Re: What size tires are these and how much lift?

David:

That yellow '74 is definitely a nice truck. I especially like the way the tires don't stick out of the fenderwells (pic below). The off-brand 33x12.50's on old style turbine wheels that came on my truck stick out, and the fronts rub. I checked out all the pics the guy posted and noticed he has 4 leaves in front and 10 (!?) in back, as opposed to 3/7 on my '79. I would have to block mine up a little I think to make it work. I kind of hate to stick with 16.5 tires, but I really like this look....

looks like 33's and maybe 2 inches topps.

this is a 4" lift on 35's.

you can see the armount of gap between the tires and the fenders is quite different

17's or 18's look good too. 17's have more size choices though and you can get LT sizes... like 33x12's etc...

Here's an 18 (sorry 2wd) with a 275/70r18 Equivalent size would be a 33x11R18.

Heres a truck with 17's and 285/75R17s Equivalent size would be a 33x11.50R17

Yeah, I would love to get away from 16.5's altogether. The options with anything else would be better, but it's the deep look with stock steel wheels and caps I like. Wide aftemarket steelies are available, but more $$$$ than I want to do right now.

Re: What size tires are these and how much lift?

There may be some ford wheels that would work for you and take hub caps... There was a 16" wheel available on these trucks but it's only 5.5" wide. all the wide wheels i know of for chevy are 16.5.

Re: What size tires are these and how much lift?

I'm working the Ford angle as well. I just keep finding the wide 16.5's.

As far as I know, all the wide ones are 16.5.

Depending on what you want to spend... My 78 came with 16"x5 wheels. You might be able to find a set of those and have them widened...
