[QUOTE=3r!c84;4152446]yea 2000 sl 5speed 1.9L but its great on gas got a few bugs to work out like the high idle but pretty good little car.

Chances are that thing needs an intake gasket. They were known for that. I worked as a Tech at a Saturn dealer for 15 years. Spray some carb cleaner around the #1 intake port, will be closest to the power steering pump. If the idle slows down or the car stumbles there ya go.

The only other issues with those things were a split pcv hose and cracked heads, hopefully the coolant looks good and not like a milk shake.

That car will give you miles of fuel sipping commuting, just keep the oil changed.

Good luck in school,

Sarge

Where the hell in Loxahatchee is there left to have the privacy of those activities in your truck? When I left there, it was exploding with development. I went down there 2 years ago for a friends wedding, I couldn't believe the traffic going down Okeechobee Blvd through Loxahatchee Groves (used to live on F Road....yes, the name of the road was F).

I remember what it was like growing up there in the late 80's as a kid..redneck paradise ....and eventually leaving after my sophomore year in Royal Palm in '98. Man do I miss it though, shame that area had to change so much so fast.

Take the throttle body off and remove the IAC motor, clean all the carbon out of the IAC and the throttle body, then put it back together, remove the battery cables and touch them together for about 10 seconds.

You can buy a TB gasket for about a buck or so. Also try removing the EGR valve and clean that too another known problem area, one more thing to check is see if there is coolant leaking out of the CTS, its in the cylinder head under the upper hose boss, if that is leaking you need to replace the sensor and the connector.

Anymore help let me know.
