Load leveling air bags?

I recently had a front leveling kit installed on my 2010 GMC Serria crew cab 4x4. I hooked a trailer on it and loaded my 68 chevy truck onto the trailer and could not believe how low the back squated down. Prior to the leveling kit it basicly leveled the truck so I guess it drops the rear about 2 1/2". Who has used load leveling air bags to raise the rear up when towing a trailer? I found a pair on the internet "steetsideauto.com" Looks really easy to install, just wondering if they work.

Thanks

Kevin

Re: Load leveling air bags?

I have a set of Air Lift bags sitting on the floor of my shop for my 2011, but I have not taken on the large amount of brake line and anti-lock equipment that is mounted on the rear axle. I just want the bags to counteract the load due to my lowering the truck.

Re: Load leveling air bags?

I have a set of rear helper bags on my 08 Silverado, and it does help even it out in the rear when I am hauling a heavy load or have a trailer with a lot of tongue weight. I have the Firestone on my truck, but both Airlift and Firestone are great brands.

PS, we can get air helper bags if you need.

Re: Load leveling air bags?

While not the same model year as yours, I have used Hellwig (at the time used Firestone air springs) rear air load control systems on previous duallies ('88 and '95) with very good experience (towing my race car trailer). It really helped stabilize varying loads - some of the races further away, I carried more equipment, etc.
