facebook ads

I have been perusing the facebook classifieds a good bit lately and am finding many, many ads with pictures turned on end or angled one way or the other or both. #%*&, what is wrong with these people? Do they really think that helps sell their vehicles? Or more than likely they don't know the proper way to use their cell phone for taking pics or how to edit them afterwards.
Then there are those that post one pic and say message me for details.
It's irritating for serious shoppers. As a matter of fact, I skip past many of those with screwed up pics. I'm not going to turn my computer over just to get a better look at their item. Doesn't anybody proof their ads before sending them? Good grief Charlie Brown!

Re: facebook ads

I'm watching a show on Netflix where every 15 or 20 minutes, they'll frame a shot on an angle and you'll watch somebody walk or drive at about a 35° slant. It's somewhat dramatic, but actually transitions into the realm of annoying. Don't you see how those canted pictures increased the drama around that black truck, haha?

It's still better than the pictures of vehicle's taken at night in the dark with little to no description. WTF is up with that?

Re: facebook ads

I would have scrubbed up on those tires before taking pictures. That would add more to the photo than a cockeyed cameraman. Black truck with brown tires

Re: facebook ads

It's the selfie thing everything is cockeyed. To be honest some pictures taken in an artistic style look good slightly cocked . But selling a car its distracting

It's amazing how many will not bother to wash or clean out the trash before taking pics for the ad and then put a completely ridiculous price on it. Totally clueless of what their stuff is worth. No science here. Make it look it's best to get the most for it. Or is that the old way of selling stuff?

You are correct. I totally forgot about that. It's been decades since I saw those shows. I'm going to have to order some DVD's.

Re: facebook ads

I wonder if it had its origin in the superhero comic books. I seem to remember worms-eye-view frames of bad guys running away but with the frame canted at a 15° angle or so.

I feel like I took a random shot in the dark blindfolded and took down a grizzly with one .22 shot in the eye... or something like that

Re: facebook ads

Jim,
I think they are trying to be cool or artistic when in reality if they spent a bit of time cleaning their rig and making it desirable any decent photo would do. See it with houses as well, holy cow. Why would you take a photo of a dirty house and put it in your real estate ad? If you don't clean the house there are a lot of other more important things you probably don't do either.

I say that coming from a place where my wife and I both keep very clean vehicles. When I traded my 2013 GMC Sierra I told the sales guy it had 167,000 miles on it. When I got back from my test drive he told me he could not find my truck for a bit because he was looking for a truck with that many miles and mine looked like it had less than half that.

Good photos and good description will get attention.
