Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

So I bought the edelbrock 8032 throttle and kickdown bracket to go with my edel 7516 vortec air gap and 1406 carb. Problem is the attachment for the throttle cable is not even close to being in line with the ball attach stud on the carb lever, it's to far toward the center of the engine. Anyone else run into this, I've tried every different assembly combination possable for the two piece setup and nothing works. I almost positive they manufactured these wrong.
Tried talking to edelbrock but they have no suggestions and claim to have no knowledge of a problem however if you google it others have hacked, bent then eventually gave up and went with another bracket manufacturer. I would think edel with their made in the USA and pride of quality would have had to put their own components together to test fit before putting them on the market? If you look at the three holes the top is cruise if needed, the smaller offset center is throttle and bottom is kickdown. The throttle needs to be in line with the kickdown, why the hell did they offset it and put it over to the side like that if this is the bracket they recommend! Rant over!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

I just went through this same exact thing! Throw it away....my opinion. I spent days with this trying to "make" it work. Closest I got to right was with the bottom piece turned around 180* (compared to your picture) so that it basically when mounted to the intake bolts the mount was over the valve cover. When you spin that mount around you have to shim the mount enough to get it to clear the valve cover. Got mine up to where I thought it was good and it still had to be bent. After a whole other day of trying to make it work another way and bending the ever loving piss out of it every which way it ended up somewhere in the garage. I went to local auto parts store and bought the chrome job from spectre that mounts on the back carb bolt. Couple little things to fab up for correct length for the pedal and it was perfect. Save yourself the hassle and pitch it. Edelbrock told me they ain't never heard of anyone having a problem with the mount at all. They hung up on me when I told em that it was funny that "their mount" didn't fit on "their intake" with "their carb". Ha. Seriously get rid of it.

Re: Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

Edelbrock tech line guy got a big attitude with me, like I was bothering him on his day off or something! I'm the one that spent 20 min on hold twice while listening to their advetisments about quality and precise engineering. Ha. I spent the xtra cash thinking I was buying a quality matching piece that would be a quick and simple install. They are recomending a part that was made by someone with their eyes closed! Talk about false advertising. I'm done with these idiots.. but I want my money back.

I'm using the same piece on mine and I have it so bent up a bassackwards to make it work that hardly anyone would recognize it.

Wish I had seen this a year ago. I went through the same thing, ended up buying the Lokar in the end anyway.

Re: Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

Old thread, I know, but I am currently searching for an Edelbrock 8032 bracket... and reading the above makes me think maybe I should end my search.

I need it for my Blueprint 355; vortec block with a Holley 600 attached. Here and elsewhere I have read that this bracket is finicky and doesn't always line up well, and that it really doesn't work well with a Holley in particular: it sits too close to it or something.

As snj8198 asked 10 years ago, if anyone can offer an alternative part - Lokar, for example - I would love to hear from you.

Re: Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

As a follow up to my own question, Holley makes a bracket that attaches to the carb itself, so it is always aligned, there is one on Amazon below.

https://www.amazon.ca/Holley-20-95-T...111472&sr=8-10

Can anyone confirm that this would be a good choice?

I am a bit out of my depth here and I hate buying and then shortly after, returning parts.

thanks all.

Re: Edel vortec throttle bracket 8032 HELP!!

Before I opened your link I thought I’d see a bracket like this one.
Much better unit.
Solid and multi-adjustable.

The bracket in your pic is not an Edelbrock 8032....please see the bracket in the link below which is the correct Edelbrock 8032
