Put in some time last night after work on the rear bags and finished plumbing the air lines to the manifold.

Attached a schrader valve to some line and bench tested the rear bags for leaks with soapy water.

Drilled a hole with a hole saw in the upper spring perch and used a cutoff wheel to trim the rest for access to the air line fitting. Mounted the bag and ran the line.

The shocks allow the rear end to drop farther than the bags can extend so I ordered a pair of 18" limiting straps to attach to the shock mounts.

Finished running and securing the lines to the manifold.

Next is to run the electrical, modify the exhaust over the rear end housing, and install the rear height sensors (once the straps come in). Getting closer!

Anyone want to stop by and help with the wiring?

Lifted the main fuse box to tap into a "key hot" wire. Note: the labels on the fuse box lid are not correct. Took me forever to locate the proper wire.

The 5 wiring harnesses, that need routed to the rear, need lengthened by about 8 feet. Also, there's not enough room to run the wires under the burb without dropping the gas tank (one would think that there's plenty of room with a vehicle this size) so I'm running them inside the cab.

Drilled two 1" holes (didn't have any 2" grommets) for the harnesses to enter the cab. Behind the rear fender well there are 2 more holes where the wires exit.

I started extending the harnesses last night but ran out of solder.

Looking good...a part of the build I'm not looking forward to....have a new harness as well as the accuair harness to run and I am going to do whatever I can to hide them.

Did you get it back on the road? I just bought an 01 tahoe and I may bag it in the future, I'm curious to see how yours turns out. So far great work!

Thanks. It's not on the road, yet. Currently re-working the exhaust to clear the rear end.

Verry nice! i installed a kit on my truck b4 they had anything at art. im happy with mine but wish art would have had a kit back then.

The exhaust hit the rearend when aired out so I lengthened it about 3" in order to raise and clear the axle tubes. I used pieces from a 3" "J" pipe from Jegs.

Pieces cut and tacked together for fitment. If you look close you'll notice that they're cut at an angle to provide the necessary bend for clearance.

Had to drop the exhaust to fully weld around the pipe.

The "U" bend over the rearend is within inches of the passenger rear bag so I wrapped that portion of the exhaust in high temp header wrap, probably overkill but better safe. Also, the exhaust was too long to install as one piece so I added a collector to install as two pieces.

The exhaust tip hung down too low and stuck out too far for my taste.

So I cut it off and built a new piece from the "J" pipe. It looks MUCH cleaner now than from the factory.

Now that the exhaust is complete I wish that I would've listened to my wife and had an exhaust shop do the work. Working under it while on jack stands and installing removing the exhaust multiple times was not fun

Over the past weeks I completed the wiring, had the drive shaft shortened, installed the limiting straps and rear sensors, shortened the rear sway bar links, and a million other little things.

Tested the air ride last night for the first time and everything worked great. I left the bags aired up over night and checked them this morning and all held pressure except the LF corner. Also the air tanks leaked down from 150 PSI to 100 PSI, so after work I'll crawl around looking for the leaks with soapy water.

Next week I plan to get it inspected and aligned and give it a good bath! I'll post up some outside pics when it gets back from the alignment shop.

I don't have the full exhaust, just a magnaflow muffler but it sounds awesome.

Thanks for welcoming me to the board. I've been a member for a while but never posted. I had a 81 chevrolet stepside in highschool. I built a stout 350 for it and couldn't keep my dad out of it.....LOL I would like to get another squarebody but I do have a 2003 suburban and I'm thinking of fixing it up to take the family on trips. I have big plans for it. Trying to keep it clean but make it stand out at the same time.

very cool, my dads partial DD is an 01 burb 2500. we put EVERYTHING in that thing. it's like driving a boat. pulls everything too.

Took the burb to get aligned this morning and the guy said that he couldn't align it because it was lowered. He basically didn't want the hassle of adjusting the camber cams with having "limited space". Whatever... Time to find another shop.

yep, have you tried a stereo/customizing shop to see if they'll do it or recommend where they take their vehicles?
