Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

Thanks! I still think it needs a little "altitude" adjustment. Maybe a couple three inches lower ?

I used a 71-72 TH400 kickdown switch by making a bracket for the firewall side of my accelerator pedal assy.

I bought a set of rear springs to lower a pickup two inches, I think with the added weight of a suburban it may lower it more. Anyone have any experience or opinions ?

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

A C10 Suburban is 800 to 1200 lbs more than a comparable pickup depending on options. So my guess is that it should sit about 1 inch lower than a pickup with the same springs would.

Thanks , That's what I was hoping for . My 67 Step side had 4" drop springs and it would bottom out sometimes. I would like to avoid that if I can.

I installed some Jeep JK headlights I found at a yard sale . Now I can replace the bulb instead of the whole headlamp.

I used those in my '67 Panel Truck with the relay upgrade. They work good.

I used Jeep Wrangler headlights in my '67 Panel Truck. Jeep JK Wrangler headlights ('07-up) are a direct bolt in swap for the old sealed beam headlights in our trucks. They even have the 3 lugs on the back for alignment and use the stock '67-'72 trim rings. I went ahead and bought the headlight conversion pigtails for the swap too.

I bought both on e-Bay. Here are the actual pigtails I bought and the headlights I bought were from a private seller that changed his over to something different. They are in excellent condition. You have to be careful because there are a lot of look alikes. They do make exact replacements too but you have to watch, some of them come with bulbs and some don't. The easy way to tell the OEM's are by the back. I think the lights are the same from 2007-2015.

Thanks. I bought mine at a yard sale from a guy that said they came out of his 2010 Jeep JK.

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

I had truck lowering springs at first and it drove terrible, rear of truck was very soft. Switched to cpp 4.5" hd springs meant for the suburban and it drives awesome now

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

I had a backup light acting up. I figured out it was the socket connector. What I was sent from LMC would not work so I modified my light with a sleeve to hold it and it works well . I did not change anything that can't be fixed correctly if I do find the correct part(in picture 2 ,which is part of a harness).
