Re: 1956 gmc 100

Red, you were almost right..But i guess i had not done enough times. This is the last time and now they are ivory, i think this is the best so far. I painted the GMC on the tailgate to match but it still needs another coat.

Re: 1956 gmc 100

At it gain lol. I swear i WILL have this thing done by spring! New door bottoms and one piece glass. I used the black diesel method and it went pretty well....however it does take a lot of fudging around to get everything working smooth, and my preference would be to NOT use the chrome stripped window felts. After destroying one side i switched to the regular black ones.

I work the EXACT same way. I'll be working on something and then start jumping all over the place to get as much done as I can to show some progress. I even mocked the entire truck up on the floor to make it look bagged to give me motivation to get it back in 1 piece while I worked on the chassis.

I gotta say, this truck turned out exceptional. That flat teal with chrome is the perfect color combo for this truck, and the stance is perfect with the big rubber. Thanks for sharing this build with us, it's nice to see something come together.

Very nice. On your fuel tank I take it the gas filler is in the bed? Is their enough room to run it out to the fender? Thanks Rich

Thats alot of great work in that many months. Great job. Nothing like driving these old trucks around. I actually look forward to my 15 minute morning commute, but not as much as the cruise home!!!

Yes its in the bed floor. Probably not enough room to run it to the fender because i mounted it on the high side of the frame, i didnt want to see it from behind

Re: 1956 gmc 100

Pretty sure I saw this truck for sale on ebay a few months ago. I had read this thread long before so when i saw the truck for sale it definitely jumped out at me as its a great looking ride.

I think he originally started a thread on the hamb and then they jumped down his throat for wanting to change his wheels from smoothies to some "rims with rubber band tires" lol...

Re: 1956 gmc 100

yup, I sold it. its never as much fun for me to own and keep something as it is to find it and make something out of it. I liked the truck but put it on ebay to test the market, A guy from Wisconsin who collected Pontiacs had to have it so he came and got it. he had the doors tagged and put a Harley moped in the back and drives it a lot. Ive started another thread for a 68 c10 and in between I did a 69 el camino lol. I just cant seem to find one that I have to keep. One thing is for sure ill keep messin with them until I do.
