Porterbuilt bolt-in IFS subframe for 55-59

Porterbulit just released this photo of thier latest product. no firm details yet, but just thought ya'll would like to know what's going to be available for suspension on these trucks. It's completely bolt-on.
with all the questons about suspension (I.F.S) this may be a good option for some folks on here.
all i know about it other than that it's bolt-on is that it will use c-10 spindles & A-arms. a power rack of somekind, and can be had with either bags or coil-overs.

Possibly, but what percentage of people that put a bolt on IFS on these trucks need something stouter then what works on a S-10?

Probably not a lot but I think the key is that Porterbuilt is quite familiar with the C-10 suspension and stuck with what he knows. No need to reinvent the wheel when you have worked with the C-10 suspension pieces extensively.

hallelujah,,,,, finally a vendor that doesn't think a pinto was a good choice for a truck suspension. Truck spindles and truck A arms on a truck frame?? Is this a prank?

There are several proven kits on the market that use car or light truck spindles. Personally, it has never made sense to me... but that's OK. There are a million ways to skin a cat... and in the end most of them work.

We have been making suspension systems for the C10 trucks for some time now, and it was an easy transition to utilize a lot of what we learned over the years when developing this new system. Sticking with the C10 spindle was a no brainer.

I have not yet seen a crossmember designed for the TF trucks that is S10 based. Not sure if one exists.

Personally that's the best statement I've ever heard from a vendor. No need to bash while stating his personal opinion and admits most products work, but believes his product is better.

There are plenty of choices for rear axles with 5 on 5 bolt patterns out there too.

Kimbridge makes a cross member clip that uses A or G body parts. its not specifically S10 but G parts will interchange with S10.

I have that clip and am using G A arms and 2001 S10 2x4 2 door spindles. It accepts either a rack or box

Nope not interested. Unless he is making things for my tri5 car. I'm done with changes on the truck, the only suspension upgrade I'm interested in is for my 55 210. So there you go trouble maker.lol

Nate, how much will this piece used with coil overs lower a TF? I want lower but NOT a problem to enter/exit driveways....in other words, useable as DD.

This particular set-up will yield a ride height of 5" from the bottom of the rocker to the ground. It's pretty low. We have found that a 5" ride height seems to be about as low as you can get before you start scraping.

Keep in mind, this is the first variation for the 55-59 trucks. Just like its C10 counterpart, the Dropmember system for the TF trucks will eventually have several height variations.

We will even be offering a trailing arm rear suspension that is similar to our current Stage 2 rear for the C10s.

Here is a couple pics of one we did a while back. This was a weld in rail section, but piloted the development of this bolt-in set-up.
