What wheels are these?

I was looking around craigslist, and saw this sweet '70, with these wheels that use OG hubcaps. Does anyone here know who makes, or sells them?

Respond to the craigslist add. I bet the owner would tell you if you ask nicely. I do it all the time.

Re: What wheels are these?

Looking at the add i assumed they were modified hubcaps to fit over aftermarket spoke wheels, Interesting for sure.

Re: What wheels are these?

I emailed the contact person in the ad for more info on the wheels, just waiting to hear back. Looks like the hubcaps have been modified to fit around the flat wheel spokes. Just need to know what wheel they used, and how they attached the hubcap. Here are a couple more pics.

Re: What wheels are these?

Kind of a shame to do that to a nice set of hub caps but then again its kind of a shame not to do that to a set of hub caps. Almost makes a guy want to buy the truck just so you can get the dam hubcaps. Lol

Re: What wheels are these?

Funny you should say that. I just talked to the owner of the truck, and he tells me that a guy is coming over tonight to look at the truck, but he doesn't want the wheels. So if the truck sells to this guy, I might end up with the wheels. Either way, he said his friend builds the wheels, low budget, and he will send me the details later.

Re: What wheels are these?

OK, the owner of the truck was cool enough to give me the lowdown on these wheels.

Quote:
Those wheels are a six spoke soft lip Boss wheel with the GM hub cap trimmed to fit over the spokes. Put a little pc. of sticky foam on the back where it touches the spoke of the wheel. Drill a couple small holes 3/16 inch and slide a zap strap through each hole. One of them you make a loop and trim off the excess. The other one you fish through that loop and back to itself. snug up the zap (TIE STRAP) trim off the excess and it is snug on the wheel. Use an aluminum coloured zap strap and its almost invisible. just carry a side cutter in the glove box to snip the tie to get at the lug nuts. The spokes on the rim line up perfectly with the hub cap
By the way, he sold the truck yesterday.

Re: What wheels are these?

Checked craigslist for the ad, and it is no longer posted. He told me last night he sold it, so I guess he pulled it.

Re: What wheels are these?

In the ad he was asking $16,500USD, the truck was in Canada. Truck had new running gear, built sbc, 700R trans, new suspension, brakes, nice rust free swb ... not a bad buy-imho.

Amazing truck but man those wheels are a turn off. Looks out of place. One or the other. Not both!

Re: What wheels are these?

I really dig the look, from a distance they look like a custom one off wheel... up close it's just a set of cut up hubcabs with zip ties
