Dumb Question about NP208 T-cases

I know this case is "chain driven." Does the chain only drive the front output shaft? When in 2wd, is it a solid connection thru the input shaft to the rear output shaft?

I'm trying to find some "slop" in my drivetrain and I know its not the axles or U-joints.

I guess the same questions could be applied to my NV4500.

Re: Dumb Question about NP208 T-cases

Chain drives front output only, just like the 241. When you pull the lever into 4wd there is a collar that locks the gear similar to a manual transmission. So yeah in 2wd the chain gear just floats.
