Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Curious how you came up with your balance point on the rotisserie mounts in the door jamb? i see the povot is forward of center. And can i assume the forward point is also bolted using the top door hinge mount?

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
I just placed the pivot point in the center of the cab and not center of the door. the forward point is just below the upper door hinge. I didn't spend to much time trying to create a balance point as i just wanted to flip the thing over! Its still a little firewall heavy but I'm hoping it will balance a little better once all the dash and steering column is out. Heres a quick pic of the door bars i made to match up to my existing rotisserie. ( pretty simple )

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Finally got a chance to sit down and give you guys some updates! Since I'm waiting on my parts order i dug into the 72 parts truck. Heres a few pics! its a 72 lwb custom with the original 350/350. Apparently ran and drove until the previous owner had a carb fire and he gave up!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Ok now for the good ole burnt up 350! i figured it was a total write off and if nothing else it would be good for a rebuild. After i stripped away and swapped out all the burnt up stuff like Dist, wires, carb, hoses and drained out about 10 litres of oil and water and popped in a new set of plugs she fired up and ran like a champ!!! Oil press was 50psi at start up and 30psi warm. I gave it a compression test and was at 130psi on every cylinder! It passed a leak down and its going to be good enough to clean up and slap into the Green Goblin!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Now with my new found motivation since the motor runs i stripped the rest of the truck down to see what i might be able to use. Other than all the 5 lug swap parts i will need the dash and part of the firewall.

Since its getting cold and the snows piling up i figured id grab the firewall before the whole trucks buried! Thats about it for the 72!

Looking good, love the forest green on the 67's are you planning on keeping the patina green if possible or repainting it?

The plan is to keep the patina as is and build the truck as a safe/fun driver for me and my kids. I'm fixing all the underside rust and a few ugly spots like bottom of fenders/box and blend them out to match the rest of the truck. I will redo the interior to keep it Clean and simple so the wife might even want to ride around in it!? |

That's pretty funny because I'm pretty damn sure you beat me to buying that 72! Yeah almost every truck I've checked out here in manitoba has a crapload of rust. I'm also just a bit jealous of your parts pile Looks like fun!

Tangier orange...that's cool, never seen that color before. Wonder if that's a candian thing ? Anyway , the 67 should be a neat truck with that pile of parts there

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Back to some updates! Today I removed the floor and firewall by drilling out all the perimeter spot welds. I left the cab corners and rockers in place so i can match up the new floor and they will also add to the strength of the stripped cab. My arm is dead after drilling out all the spot welds while trying to retain the exterior metal!

Its a lot easier to dig into and strip the dash with the floor out on a Rotisserie!!!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Once i got the dash stripped i could move on to taking the firewall out. I originally wasn't going to remove the complete firewall but i started thinking about patches and matching it to the floor and i figured it was best just to change out the whole thing. Heres a few pics of drilling it out and removal.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Once the floor and firewall were out i could really see how bad the rust was in the kick panel and lower hinge post area. So they needed to be rebuilt! It was tricky to do with trying to retain the old rocker panel but it needs to be done before the floor goes in. Heres a few pics of that repair and the last pic is the cab prepped with weld-threw primer ready for the firewall! Thats it for today!!!
