Tire Clearance...........???

I have just installed the bed back on my 59 and I have like 1/2 inch clearance on the passenger side rear, but tire rubbing on driver's side. I had this problem with the rear before I tore it down for the rebuild also. It was a frame off with completely all new suspension (trianglated four link, and M2). I have measured the rear end distances from frame etc. and all good there. Like I stated, when the truck was original, it had the same problem. Nothing apears bent or out of whack (whack, that's a technical term). My friend is building one, and it also has less clearance on the drivers side???? Anyone have a clue or have run into this? We wondered if the fenders from different years (55-59) were different and maybe I have a weird fender..........

Re: Tire Clearance...........???

I have a 49, but noted this with mine as well - my bed and rear fenders are new, but I didn't put the 10-bolt in, that was done by the previous owner.

I only recently noticed it - it's like the drivers side tire sticks out about 3/8" more... weird, but no alignment issues that I have found.

*headscratch*
