Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

I have pretty much everything already...I bought the Tv cable kit for an Edelbrock card...just gonna modify for the sixer, or just sell the kit, and by a cheapy stock cable. The tranny crossmember in the truck should work....just a relocate....as well as the column shift.

Here's a teaser pic:

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

Man, I'm a decent typer...but it would of taken me forever to do that !!

Also....does a short-bed have 6 stake pockets ??

If so, are middle ones left alone after a long to short conversion ?? (stock appearance)

If I were to do it (not that I am) I would want it to be stock in appearance.

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

4 stakes, and remember the wheel wells are shorter if you want it to look stock.
the first 3 pics are a long to short conversion, with the long wheel wells still.
thw last 2 show a short,4 pocket bed.

It's from "BowTie Overdrives"

http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...AT&CATID=WA3A1

This is an AWESOME site...tons of info on how to set the tranny up correctly (pressures, adjustments, etc.)

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

They even have a correct crossmember for when you go from a 3-speed manual to a 700....retains the e-brake linkage...

Very reasonable too.

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

I still think if you cut it down you should do a 7 footer. I think it would be the perfect size. Longbeds are just a liitle bit to long, shortbeds are a little to short ( first one to call me "Goldielocks" gets a knuckle sammich ).
