Re: His name is "George" 84' C10
Not sure if there is anyone else out there like me, that has an absolute hatred for Amber lenses? Haven't been able to find aftermarket clear ones other than custom and they were over a $100 bucks. After looking around online, I found that an older VW Golf has a similar shape and it actually worked out surprisingly well. Starter out by removing existing lens and making a template of the bordering indent. Transferred that to the new lens and rounded the corners with a table sander. Had to cut out left side mounting hole on the fender to accept the slide in holder on the new lens. Was able to reuse existing mounting point on the right side and existing bulb housing (Had to trim a little of the rubber ring and change the bulb to Amber). All said and done $27. Here is the part numbers, if anyone wants to give it a shot.
1984-1992 VW Golf Left Side 176945071, 176 945 071, 176-945-071 VW2550103 Right Side 176945072, 176 945 072, 176-945-072 VW2551103 |

Re: His name is "George" 84' C10
I'm sure sure there is a lot of us out there with some free time these days.....
Using it to do a little odds and ends. Original thoughts were to use license plates, decided to go with stainless. Started by using tape to make a template, and was excised to try out the dimple dies for the first time. Hopefully I don't go overboard . Went with copper rivets to change up all the silver I have going on. |

Re: His name is "George" 84' C10
Man, the neighbors are loving me being home lately with all this cutting and grinding Newest project is a radiator cover made from the old roll pan I removed and a '70 rocker patch panel. Pretty much have it where I want it, just getting the mounting situated and will have to modify under the hood a little.
