I love them, they are alot brighter at night and have a good pattern and they still keep the classic closer to stock look. Plus it was nice that it was truly plug and play.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Went to a local cars and coffee event over the weekend and one of the regular photographers took some great pics of the trunk in the morning light.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Little bucket seat swap updates. Got the covers back in November, finally remembered to take a picture of them before I get covering the frames.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Then as far the frames go, currently working on mocking up some track adaptors to use a set of 66/67 Chevelle bucket seat tracks in the cab Using some scrap wood to figure everything out, then will make it out of steel. Will then make some simple offset plates to mount the tracks to the floor and reuse the outer bench seat mount locations and then make similar ones for the inner mount.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Awesome build, and beautiful truck. I hope one day mine will be in that kind of condition too, but for now just trying to get it back to a driver after sitting for at least 12 years. I do have one question though about your brake upgrade. Based on the pics it looks like maybe somehow you stayed 6 lug? Based on counting lug studs on that rear axle shaft. Is there a way to swap to disk brakes in the front and stay 6 lug?

I bought a CPP disc brake kit. It had dropped spindles and then came with 6 lug rotors, you could have ordered the kit either with 6 lug or 5 lug. You can then always swap later on to 5 lug if you want to.

CPP? Sorry, not familiar with that. I'm relearning the parts shopping for these old trucks. I'd like to keep the stock height and all, and not break the bank if there's a way to swap to disks and stay 6 lug to keep factory original look. Otherwise, if there's no other choice, I'll stay with drums all around.

CPP is a company that makes alot of suspension kits for various cars. I am sure there are some kits out there with stock height spindles with 6 lug, I saw a couple when I was looking at kits, but I was always going with dropped spindles so I cant recall where I saw them.

There is a nice cars and coffee on Saturday mornings in Sherwood, every Saturday rain or shine. There used to be a big friday night thing during the summers in Aloha at the Dairy Queen on Farmington.

Anymore I am have been driving to Vancouver or the east side for stuff because it seems thats where alot has moved to. If you have facebook, check out CRC10 or C10 Club Oregon. Most of the people there are Portland/Vancouver Metro and do quite a bit together with our trucks.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Trying to get a few things finished up before wrapping up the bucket seat swap in the truck. So have left the bench to still hit up some local cars and coffee events. Was the only C10 at this one over the weekend. Hopefully if all goes to plan this weekend the bench comes out and I can move forward to finish the buckets.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

So finally made some progress on my bucket seat swap. Got the bench out today and got my adaptors made to use my chevelle seat tracks into the floor with minimal hole drilling in the floor.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Got all of my brackets wrapped up today and bolted in, got the tank cover in stalled and then got the console bolted in. Now down to doing the upholstery work on the seats and the swap will be all done.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Spent the day getting the seat covers pulled onto the foam and tied down. I am waiting on some hog ring pliers that I ordered to show up in the next day or so to finally wrap up the bucket seat swap.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"

Spent the day pulling, stretching and cussing while pulling the covers onto the frames for my buckets. Neither my grandfather or I are upholsterer, but we are happy with the results. The former high back frames did pretty good turning into low backs.

Beautiful interior! I love the way the seats turned out. I hope my bench seat looks that good when I restore it. Thanks for the motivation.

Wrapped up a few little things left and then bolted the seats in for the final time. The swap is now complete and now its time to get back to cruising.
