Putting bed back on after tank relocation
Relocated my gas tank on my 68 c10 to underneath the bed. When putting the bed back on I can not get the nut on the 2 bolts towards the back of the truck that are above the tank, I cant get my hand or wrench in that location. Any special way of doing this? The remaining six bolts I had no problem with, just the 2 over the new gas tank location.

maybe drill a hole in the bottom of the frame rail to gain access from there. with socket and extension. maybe one guy on top to push down on the carriage bolt while you tighten from bottom.

Did you trim the one crossmember that goes a crossed the top of the tank? Could that be what is throwing things off?

I welded nuts to the bottom of the cross bar. I then took a thin carborundum disc and slotted the carriage bolt head. Then ground off the square part of the shank so the bolts could turn and be installed from the top. Used a large screwdriver to install the 2 bolts. My slats and bolts are polished stainless steel, but same technique would work for any hardware finish. Nobody has noticed the slots.

Buy a longer careiage bolt and put nut on bottom side of frame rail
