Re: Project "April"

Looks awesome. Great project you have going there. Im surprised you went with bed liner for the inner fenders, and firewall. Any reason for that? Just noise resistance maybe?

I'm using bed liner because it's durable, and because I think it will make the engine pop. (The engine will be Chevy orange and the rest of the engine compartment will be black) It should make a nice, simple contrast. Plus, I just really like the look of bed liner.

Re: Project "April"

I would have to side with 1972 Super Cheyenne here, Paint the firewall body colored, just my .02 , the orange will still pop !

Re: Project "April"

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been getting work done, just kept forgetting about the forum. Anyways, I sanded down the floor, put 2x layers of POR-15, then Dynamat. Hoping for a quiet ride.

Re: Project "April"

Welded Vintage air plates to firewall and covered unnecessary holes. Hit it with some Epoxy-Primer. Finished with bedliner.

Cut, and welded this plate thing to the chassis--where the P.O. cut the frame to shorten it. Hoping to add strength.

Re: Project "April"

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a roller

I can't install the brakes, because I don't have new wheels yet (The brakes are too big to fit in the original wheels). But, I just had to test fit them so here's how they'll look!

Very nice! It's nice to see a young man working hard on such a great project. In a world full of baggy pants teenage mutants it's good to be reminded that there are good kids / young men out there!

Re: Project "April"

So I haven't really decided on the seating yet. But I did see this set up in a 67 the other day, and I really liked it! I'm thinking those seats, in this tan color...any thoughts?

They look almost like buddy buckets if you leave the head rest off. So...I like them and saddle or parchment looks good with Ochre. What are they out of?..
