*Help* need a measurement 55-59

Can someone put a tape measure on their assembled 55-59 truck and tell me what it should measure from the top of the frame rail to the bottom of the lip that runs along the top of the firewall where it joins the cowl.

Re: *Help* need a measurement 55-59

My 1958 measures to the bottom of the lip, on driver side 24.881 inches on the passenger side 24.763 inches, I used metric and converted thats why the to the thousandths dimensions. Mine was much more than 24.5 inches, a lower measurement can be from worn cab mount rubber, rust etc.

My truck doesn't have any rubber in the front cab mounts. Am I missing something?

No, front cab mounts were solid metal, rear had rubber for some vibration dampneing. Front are solid to maintain the fender, rad support, hood alignment.

Thanks OrrieG, that's what I thought. My clutch and brake pedal rods are centered in the holes where they come through the floor so I don't think my cab has settled much, if any at all.
