Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

low_84_inchaska - I built a simple box mount for mine that sets up against the rad support, and uses two of the three rad support-to-inner fender mounting holes.

It's since been painted.

Here's mine, 2.5 months for the swap and about 1500 miles on it so far with very few problems. I used a 2002 Silverado 5.3 and topped it off with an LS1 intake and injector setup, I love it!

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

In progress. The block will be blue like the wheels and it will have cast aluminum finned valve covers. That is an NP833 o/d 4-speed behind it. Just finished putting in a 212/218 .522/.529 cam, LS6 springs, and TSP pushrods. Gonna need some less expensive tires for burnouts...

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

My 1969 Chevy C-10 Stepside Swap, started off as a simple 5.3L swap with a nice electroic 4L60E. Then I decided that wasn't good enough so I cammed it, that was a great improvement but then I decided to go crazy and swap it out with a completely build up LQ9 6.0L with brand new high flowing L92 cylinder heads, LS3 Intake manifold, 90mm throttle body, Comp Cams 223/231, .610/.617, on 112 lsa. I topped the new motor off with GM Performance Part LSX polished valve covers and hiding the coils in the frame rails!!!

Many more pics in my build thread and I'm planning on taking it out to the track this spring to see how fast it is!

I cleaned nearly every thing with Purple Power, water, soft bristle scrub brush, rag and elbow grease. It was amazing how well it cleaned, just don't leave it on too long before washing off with water.
I used Duplicolor Chrysler Silver Met. on the water pump, a/c, pulleys, tranny and accessories.
I used the high heat Duplicolor primer on the engine and then ordered Corvette Torch Red in a aerosol can, then finished up with high heat clear gloss for the shiny.
I used Rustoleam Industrial Semi-Gloss black on the metal parts and gloss black paint made specifically for plastics...I will get the name and edit later.
I used a flat black high heat for the exhaust manifolds, can't remember the name...maybe VHT or something like that.
All of the paint was bought off the shelf from O'Reilly with the exception of the Torch Red which they ordered for me and had the next day.

Gotta be careful witht the GM colors special order spray cans, the paint flows reeeal thin. Better to take your time with multiple coats to avoid runs. IMHO
