Re: 85 crew cab with 97 vortex motor and dash

The design of the motor mount adapters all come down to the headers you are going to use and if you want to use the stock trans or the new trans in the stock bell housing location.

These ones leave the trans in the stock location so if you want to keep your stock trans & driveshaft(s) you can.

http://www.streetsideauto.com/p/tran...ap-mount-4575/

I don't know which headers are designed around this if any. I'm going to make my own using a set of big block headers and a set of Patriot H7893 LSx header flanges.

Re: 85 crew cab with 97 vortex motor and dash

Nice to see some progress.

I am in the same boat with no shop and only a small shed to keep my tools & parts in. Makes projects more entertaining.

Re: 85 crew cab with 97 vortex motor and dash

i hate it i wish i would have held out for a house with a shop already on it. oh well.

here are some dash pics. its all fitted, now i just need to make tabs to hold her in place. I had the heater box in as well. I had to cut a lot out of the fire wall, i'll get better pics later.

Same here. I got in a hurry searching for a new place and settled for something not quite what I wanted just to get my girls out of a bad neighborhood and into a better school district. Won't happen the next time.

Looking good....

Question: What size lift, tires, and wheels are you running. Looks like a nice setup.
