Thanks for posting Jocko! Looks pretty hefty. Those C 40's had a strange production runs, on and off again, light duty sheet metal then medium duty sheet metal. It seems GM didn't really know what to do with this series.

Sweet. Now just put a long step side bed on it. I've given up on getting a step side, sad to say. The prices are getting ridiculous on all of these trucks. I'd like to have traded my '68 Skylark hot rod straight across for a truck, but that ship has sailed.

I want one of these 60-66 C40's something awful... Really like the looks of them, larger wheels, good stance, something about the proportion of the truck just does it for me.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I used to live not too far from Hesperia, always drove thru there on my way to civilization... It's one of those desert towns with lots of nice stuff lying around collecting dust - but less and less stuff every day as it slowly gets picked off or parted. If I were still up in Ridgecrest (and had a massive parklng spot..) I'd be making the sprint down south for this. Unfortunately when I lived there, I moved every few years and it wasn't exactly economical to drag a barn full of trucks across the country every few years.

Oops, sorry, wrong year. Wait, wrong make, and it's not even a truck.
But wow! I should go kick the tires and ask for a test drive.

In highschool I wanted a 69 fastback so bad. Never ended up with one. Got my 65 C10 instead.

Nice truck. Really good color too. I also like the six cylinder in the foreground. The transmission setup with the bottom hinged pedals is perfect. Note the foot pedal that actuates the starter with the linkage going over to the right. Bet there's an e-brake handle too. You could built a neat hotrod starting with that package. At least that is what I would do with it.

That's a lot more old school that what came in this step side.

Is there anyone local to it who would be willing to scope out the rust for me? There would be monetary incentive for looking and pics.

PM me, if so.

I asked the seller what the engine and transmission was from. He said 37 Chevy 1/2 ton.
