Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

I got a new set of shock relocation brackets as well as new shocks, u bolts and an adjustable trac bar. I've had lowering springs and mounting plates since last year. The only thing I'm missing now is a good dose of ambition. And better weather.

I have never heard of one doing that. Maybe something broke inside and bound it up. Never fun with the column installed.....

Yep usually the switch goes bad like this one . It's hard to get everything lined up and then get my old fumblin' fingers to start those little bitty screws and the stoplight switch connector is right there in the way.

I took my old steering wheel off Today to try to get restored and fix my turn signal switch 'cause it wouldn't cancel . I only needed springs replaced . I fished out the broken ones from under the switch and replaced them . I put a wheel I had in my stash on for now.

Looks good. Do you know what the wheel is from? I'm looking for a flat one like that for my Blue Dually.

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

I got my tailgate lock cylinder back Today . Thanks Leon, I installed it and the ignition cylinder Tonight . Now I can lock my tailgate and start the Burb with one key . I need to take both inner door panels off to get the door locks in and install my new window regulator in the the drivers door. Then I will be able use 1 key for all locks.

No problem. Your tailgate lock was in pretty nice shape compared to some I've done. It had been worked on before because there were some small parts in it that didn't belong.

I could tell someone had messed with it. It had some marks on it. Thanks for cleaning them up.

I couldn't get them all out but it looked a little better. No big deal since I had it apart anyway.

I made a bracket for a second dome light . I saw pictures of one and tried to make it from what I remembered seeing. Maybe a bit different but it is fitting fine. I painted it after taking this pictured.

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

This morning I used a tape to fish the wires to the front dome light , got it connected to the front wires and finished by lunch. Still need to try to get headliner tucked under bows ,but that might take two people.

Stock headliner is a little dingy , hoping to clean it up somehow without any more breakage.

Good work! The nice part of making your own parts is not only do you get free shipping but they also come with the good feelings of a job well done!
