Just realized Ol Blue will be 50 this fall...

So what are all of us 59 four holer rocketside guys going to do? Cake? Fireworks? Now I have to get in on the road for the b-day. Does anyone know if there is a place to see where you Vin sequence fits in the production year? I wonder how many 2009 trucks with computers, chips, etc. will be around in 50 years?

absolutely none of the new trucks will be around in 50 years, they dont build them like they used to..btw nice build OrrieG, your truck is coming along nicely.. and i'd say that you dont need cake and fireworks for your trucks birthday, look at the awesome job that you are doing bringing her back to her former glory!

There are some vin decoders available, check the FAQ section. I looked up my 52 once, think it was a American Classics. Found out it was assembled in early 52, so we celebrate together. Neither of us have enough wind to blow out that many candles, though.

Its such a cool thought to ponder back on the life of your truck. All of the places its been and what it might have been used for! Mine will be 60 next year. They sure dont build them like they used to!
