Tranny lines?

I have installed a 4L80e into my Squarebody pickup and i had also installed the factory style 4L80e hard lines running up to the radiator. Now i am going to installed the AC compressor (now a LS based engine) and the hard lines are right in the way of the low mount AC bracket (which is exactly where i want the AC compressor to stay). I have tried bending the hard tranny lines out of the way but they continue to rub against things and I don’t trust them, long term.

I have ZERO interest in moving the AC compressor.

So my ? To you, whats the suggested soft line to run for tranny lines? PTFE? Or is there a strong version of a rubber type line I can run for my tranny lines?

Re: Tranny lines?

Simple solution is to make some brackets to hold the lines out of the way where you want them. Strap iron is cheap.

Re: Tranny lines?

I've seen just plain ol oil/gas resistant 3/8" rubber (gas line ) used forever
If your worried about it not holding up you could upgrade to the 3/8" rubber fuel Inj hose..
Or whatever size your tubes are..

Re: Tranny lines?

On my LS swaps I just use the typical rubber lined -6 SS braided lines. My 98 Wrangler with a LS6/4L60E combo has 15 years on it using it with zero issues.
I use Russell hose and hose ends.

Re: Tranny lines?

Use whatever folks use to add an auxiliary trans cooler. I used some to connect a cooler/condenser to the output of my air compressor pump. It is labeled on the hose "Transmission Cooler Hose". Or places like Jegs/Summit may have assembled sets ready to go.
