Found an Extra Cab truck for sale

I happened to see this while driving around OKC. It is not mine nor do I know who owns it or even what engine and trans it has, let alone the condition.
The body looks pretty straight, obviously the front clip and doors have been changed. the truck appears to be a 3/4 ton. It has, what I believe to be, Aerostar buckets in it.
thought I would pass it along, since I don't see many of these anymore. The area code should be 405 if someone wants to call about it. Or if someone is interested and not in the area I would be willing to talk to the owner and check the truck out for you

anywho......PICS!!!

Not too bad. Wonder why both fenders and doors were replaced? If I had the money I would be interested in looking at it. Might make a nice project.

Shipping can be had for fairly reasonable. Looks like it would be a fun project.

Re: Found an Extra Cab truck for sale

They aren't factory. Dunno what the name of the company is, out of TX or OK IIRC. There is a member here that has a bunch of them, maybe he will chime in, probly buy it too for that price.

You're right it is an aftermarket conversion. The name of the company that was contracted to do them and how many they did escapes me but I'm sure others on here will chime in about it.

I don't think it looks particularly great either, but you (3r!c84) are gonna say you can see bondow(?) waves? Gimme a break. Haters always make me laugh. By the way, what's a "now window"?

I took it to be a typo for "no" window; as in an absence of window.
I also took it as he was referring to the 72c10 he had seen.
Just a guess though.

Re: Found an Extra Cab truck for sale

Yeah Joe they were done by an aftermarket company. There weren't a bunch of them done, but enough that they aren't extremely rare either. To me the window on the ext cab part never looked right. I have a pic of one somewhere that was for sale over at a car lot in Yukon. Funny thing was it was locked and it was Sunday when I was looking at it. I thought just for kicks I would see if my key would unlock the door so I could see inside. Sure enough my key unlocked it! I just about fell over when the door lock popped up.

Re: Found an Extra Cab truck for sale

My fault. I seriously thought you were talking about the truck in this thread's pictures. Honest mistake. It's not so much here on this site, but when people make an effort to share something and someone comes on and has nothing but negative to say about it or claims to be some kind of expert and critic on everything it keeps others from posting. I see now that you weren't trying to do that. Sorry again if I came off rude!

Does it maybe have "jump seats" in the back?

Re: Found an Extra Cab truck for sale

Maybe you should come look at the crew cab short bed that is by my house. It's not up for sale, but isn't everything really for sale?

Here is a link to another crew cab SWB in Altus for sale.

87 Crewcab Short Bed

And I remembered to post the link!

Yeah there was one that a board member here had over in Eastern Oklahoma. It was sharp, and was pretty cheap too. Can't remember now who it was.

As I recall, I believe GM was distributing these in Mexico and possibly Central & South America.

It comes to mind that I think those areas were test areas for certain style changes and future makes.
