Congrats on the first drive! Looks great ! I like a bit of a rake too, but cut like 1/2 at a time. A little seems to go a long way. I've been known to use lumber and a floor jack and set the height, then build to that number. Works pretty good!

Been working on the interior a bit and it is starting to come together. I still need to find the trim for the head liner, cover my door panels, install some lower door covers (see the speaker hole) and cover the sound box behind the seat. I also took some pics under the hood. It's always revealing when you look at your truck in pictures and see what others will see. I am not happy at all with the mess under the hood.

Put it on, sand it off, put it on sand it off...my arms are sore. Finally got it to where I put a guide coat on. Should be the last time with maybe a little glazing after this one. Didn't realize how bad the bed sides where. Maybe I am just being too picky. I'll seal it off and then maybe a coat of slick sand...there I go again with the picky part. I am considering a lighter color down the middle with black on the top and bottom. Maybe black pearl (or a really dark blue) and granite. Not sure who's truck in the pic but I am thinking of something similar.

Well I am still working on the bed sides and they are getting closer. The right side is nearly done. Just finishing a few spots with a little glaze. Then it's on to the left side then some sealer, high build and more...sanding.

Looking good Rex. Make sure you let that spot putty dry for a long time. It likes to shrink.

Thanks for the tip. I'll let it sit till tomorrow. After I knock that off I'm going to put a skim of 2 part glaze on and long board that. It'll be ready to seal and then on to the high build...and more sanding. But it'll be worth it.

I just get it close and Hose it with Slick Sand. Much easier than fighting mud. Lets you smooth it all out with 150. Looks good!

Definitely have considered using Slicksand...even it it is just for the side panels. Should smooth em out nicely.

Laid on some Evercoat 2 part glaze...smoothed right out. Now for some epoxy sealer, little more sanding and then some slicksand. I am getting to the rewarding stage. My arms need some rest!

What do you think about prepping out the doors and fenders to shoot slicksand on those at the same time? That way I can get all the lines perfect. I need to pull those doors to get the hinges done but I'll pull them anyway when I put the color on. I could do the hinges then. I'll have all that disassembled to paint anyway.

Get your inners finished in prime. Bolt on doors and front clip and adjust for gaps. Scuff with 80-150 and prime and block. Enjoy!

We have finally gotten the bed to the epoxy stage. Everything seems to take forever right now. This bed shortening project was nearly more than I could handle...probably due to my newbastic skills. Thanks to Justin (JRE) for helping me out. He has been helping out with showing me how it's done and laying on the first round of epoxy. It's good to get one color on so I don't go insane chasing the tiny spots that I couldn't really see. Now let the blocking begin! Then on to the slick sand.
