Anyone do this sort of swap? I have a 72 gmc 1 ton 2wd long box stepside and a 1973 shortbox stepside 4x4 with 1 Ton axles , 11" suspension lift and 44" boggers. Cab is shot on the 73 and frame shot on the 72

Also have a short box stepside from a 1972 Cheyenne 10 I plan on using with the cab. Full body restore is planned and no fuel tanks as its going on propane.

Look up member "MUDDER", either message him or do a search for his old posts and he should explain how to do it. Trevor

Should look good when it's done, rather lifted then lowered. Canada is unforgiving with slammed trucks and cars

Re: 72 gmc cab on 73 4x4 frame

i thought about doing this, then thought it would be easier to use the srping mounts from the 73 frame onto the 72 frame, but i got lucky and got a 70 4x4 frame. It can be done custom cab mounts, won't sit down low on the frame.
