Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

Found some script valve covers and got them cleaned up and ready for the LS1 that will be living under the hood. The wheels were looking pretty rough from sitting in the shop for a long time so I had them professionally polished and ceramic coated.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

I purchased some valve cover adapters so I could run the script valve covers, it definitely looks better than the coils. Also got some Speed Engineering headers, nice product for the price!!! Those custom wood wheels are better than nothing while I am workin on her plus it rolls super easy!!!

I can use the oil fill tube with the valve covers, although I am still looking at better alternatives. These factory tubes just do not look that great.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

I needed to get the metal covered so I put down some polyester filler. Definitely it look much better! The Blazer took on a new life with it's new color.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

Being that I was in a major rush to get this thing together for a show, I wanted to get some colored epoxy on it. I have decided to paint it blue so I got some tinted epoxy so I could see what it would look like.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

Here are the pics after getting it together in one night and taking it to Lone Star Throwdown 2022. It was cold and a tad rainy but I made it there with just a sprinkle or two. Had a blast just showing off the work and then back home to some much needed heat!! I will be back on it soon and hopefully have some more updates to share!

Wow. I was not in on your thread when it began. Just read through the whole thing now. hard for me to believe that you learned to weld at the beginning of this project. You have a very good vision for things and you're very inventive. Now shut all of that off, so that you can get it done, at least usable and drivable and then you can mod it from there, haha. I really respect how you used your enthusiasm and ideas to develop as a fabricator.

Thank you for taking the time to go through the whole thread!!! Yes, I started welding just before getting the Blazer. I took my time and learned but it was natural for me. I do plan on keeping at it and getting this thing on the road and enjoy it. Should be a fun little Blazer when I am done!!!
