Need some opinions on motor setup. I have a 1980 ish 350 chev block. It has been bored 60 over and has new pistons and rings and bearings ( do not know if they are stock or not). Bore was $200, pistons , rings and bearings ($300) , has all new rockers, springs . new double timing chain & sprockets. Camelhump heads were redone ($450) Cam is Crane cam Energizer ¾ race . Intake @ cam 3134 @ valve 470 duration 282 , Exhaust @ cam 3134, @ valve 470, duration 282, recommended RPM range 2500- 5500 , float 6500. Intake is a Weiand Stealth 8016, carb is a Holley 1850 –600 CFM carb. I want to upgrade a bit. I picked up an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake at a good price , new in the box, and was wondering what carb I should go to , whether I should stay with the Weiand and a new carb ?????? Don’t want a rocket, just want to maybe increase performance a little and make it look better under there. I will be pulling the motor in the spring to strip and paint it .The motor ran strong when I bought the truck 7 yrs ago and began the build.

The Stealth is a high-rise, dual-plane design and a good one. I would see zero benefit in a manifold swap. Your carb sizing is fine.

If I was looking for more power, I'd look at a cam swap depending on your gears and trans. That cam is really a racing cam set up to deliver top-end power rather than low-end grunt - and as a single-pattern it's not the best fit for the stock heads as they need a bit more help on the exhaust side. I assume you're running headers and a good exhaust...?

I agree on a cam change. Those Energizer are old school grinds. There is power to be found with a more modern grind from either Comp Cams, or Lunati. Like Ticker said, we need more info to give a recomendation on a cam.

Have put that cam in several small blocks in the past. Seems to turn on a little quicker an a little more user friendly than what he has listed. Get more use out of his rpm range for what he has listed. Simply on the carb, I would just want a little more carb.
