Thumbs up Xmas In March, Thanks To Porterbuilt.

After researching how to lower the front end of my truck for days, wks, and many months, I finally found the anwser in March's issue of Classic Trucks. There it was, in the tech section. An artical on their awesome crossmember. So after reading the artical and talking to Nathan, at Porterbuilt. I ordered mine. I will be installing it soon and will post more pics. Thank you, Porterbuilt.

The only difference between the BBC and SBC Dropmember are the motor mount tabs on the crossmember. The BBC tabs are 3/4" taller.

It's looking killer Mike!

Hey man.... I pay attention (it's the only thing I can afford to do).

The visual inspect would be to verify EXACTLY where the steering shaft intersects the engine compartment vs stuff hanging off the front of the engine. It would seem I have some 1-off brackets that I want to verify the possibility of fitting/using.

Yes you can... So you are suppose to drag the lower arm mounts. I love the crossmember but not that idea.

When the rear is down, the caps won't touch the ground. When the framerails are planted, the caps will be about an inch off the ground.

Also, the use of a bumpstop will limit the components from touching the ground. We all know it's unsafe to have frame-rails and other suspension components contact the ground.
