Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
Those came out great! Perfect adaptation from truck/van to muscle car vibe.

Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
I recently went to the junk yard and saw a mid 80s seat with no head rest, the interesting thing about this one was no zipper down the middle of the back and it was out of brown leather or vinyl, I am thinking this was not glued to the foam like the blue ones are, I did not get it cause I did not need a third different style of a seat

Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
now I aint a smart man but I know how to surround myself with some smart people, so I think my friend Patrick, our friend Patrick may have cracked the code of the fold down 60/40 bucket seats, his theory is that the ones from the Extended Cabs fold down, where as the standard cab ones probably do not
so The Greg decided to take one for the team and headed out fishin' |

That's an example of a truck that doesn't deserve to be in the wrecking yard. I got a gauge cluster lens and a sill plate out of it. Oh, and a quarter. The seats were only a little damp from the rain we received.

Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
so I just drank half a bottle of wine sitting there in my garage starring at four of these early 90s GMC Sierra blue seats trying to figure out what makes them fold down or not, then once I figured it out I drank the other half to celebrate... SCIENCE !

Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
seats with these crescents in the bottom section fold down, their matching back rests have these notches
and yes how would you know this without taking them apart, I recon you wouldn't I did feel under some of mine with my finger once I knew what I was looking for but the seats were on the floor and not in the truck, of course you can lift the back rests a bit and see if they will fold down |

Re: How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra
and here's what the non folding seats look like, the bottoms don't have the moon shaped cut outs, and the backs do not have the notches
so why go through all this, well you might end up with a mismatched seat or if you get a pair and one folds down and one doesn't, and you take them apart to clean them or have them reupholstered and then you mix them up and put the wrong backs on the wrong bottoms none of them may fold down |
