WIW-dealer installed bedside steps

Off of a 61 Apache...thinking of having them polished and put back on, but may sell...

Re: WIW-dealer installed bedside steps

Is there bracing that goes behind them for strength?

Re: WIW-dealer installed bedside steps

nope, I wondered the same thing but there isnt. They are actually quite strong sitting in there. I worried that the body would warp if someone used it, but it doesnt. The dealership, or whoever installed them on this truck, did a complete hack job cutting the hole out lol. looks like they used tin snips

Re: WIW-dealer installed bedside steps

You can still find NOS ones for about $50 each. GMC Paul used to have a bunch of them.

I had a set of NOS ones about 15 years ago. Wonder what i ever did with them?

FYI, there was no bracing on the back.
