Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I'd rather eat the box then eat a chain Pizza. I like dive bars better. At least the ones with good food.
Jar sauce?? No way.

Picked up a few of the these fire suppressant aerosol can . Supposedly works on electrical and grease and says it’s easy clean up with a damp cloth and won’t damage auto parts . For $4.50 a can it can’t hurt I’ll still keep my bigger extinguishers in my vehicles . Made in USA too

I know I won't get any sympathy from you Mark.

I had to thaw the locks out to get my Swap Meet trailer .
But now I'm hooked up to head to the swap meet tomorrow.

Suppose too be in the Teens in the morning when I head out for Vendor setup, but a better day for Sunday

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Working on a wood carving. Borked the first one by chopping off a necessary piece, which flew to who-knows-where in my garage "shop" So I cut out a new piece, and when smoothing the edges on the stationary belt sander, lost control and and it fell on the floor, denting the feces out of it. Fortunately, I can hide the dents on the back side.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I did know that pizza is an American thing, not from Italy. Same as spaghetti. Marco Polo brought back spaghetti squash from the Orient and Italians liked it so much they started making a pasta version.

I don't believe Pizza Hut and Dominos got pizza going here. They are the result of it already being started my mama and papa, I guess in NY, but there is a strong Italian heritage in Chicago, too, and Chicago pizza is a big thing. As far as chain restaurants, Pizza Oven, who made thin crust rectangular pizza in this area was around back when Pizza Hut got started. I was just saying there is no such thing as J&P pizza and an Italian restaurant names New York didn't serve it. It should be J&P New York Pizza, not New York J & P Pizza. That's like saying "Chevy Special-k Truck Shop"

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

This weekend getting ''stuff'' away from the garage wall our breaker box is on. Generator is arriving Monday and electrician is coming Wednesday to install transfer switch inside and plug, outside.

You never really have an appreciation for how much ''stuff'' you have until you have to move it...twice.

Yesterday I snagged a set of wheels that popped up on craigslist right down the street for a price I couldn’t pass up. Threw them on this morning. Feels like a brand new truck…

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

What some people consider dive bars I consider the best. A bar is a bar, a place to waste your time and money, whether it's a biker bar or one with brass rails, mirrors, expensive woodwork, and high dollar fare. A good ole bar burger can't be beat. Lou & Joes is an old roadside tavern that used to be pretty rough. Some still think it is while the more wise know it is the best place to eat in Mt. Airy, actually just outside of there. They have a dining room separate from the bar, as most places do. We used to have those places all around the outskirts of town, but only Lou & Joe's now. Neighboring small towns all have their own. Never had pizza at any of them.

I get pizza when I want something cheap and ready to eat. I'm fine with Domino's, Pizza Hut (we just lost ours), Papa John's, or local yocal. Our Pizza Hut had the central fire pit. I took the kids there many times. The oldest hole in the wall place, Cozy Corner, just went out. They had great subs and pizza. Yuppies want something different and "old" is a bad word for them. They are so stuck on "moving forward" it makes them blind to all the good that surrounds them. I don't think Cozy Corner had an 'app'. I'm going to vomit now, please excuse . We have a regional chain in town, Vocelli's, and their pizza is really good. Only them and Domino's deliver out here. Vocelli's is cool because they will deliver to where the next one north (10 miles) overlaps. They don't leave a "no delivery" dead zone. Online Dominos thinks I am out of their delivery area. I'm a call it in guy anyway. I only go online to look at the menu

And I remember Shakey's from high school. We didn't have one nearby. We would all load up and travel to the nearest, probably only, one in the next county. They had a Gay '90s atmosphere, if I remember correctly. Maybe even an automated piano. Reminded my of the western saloon atmosphere, without the smoky corner poker game and ol' stink eye looking over my girlfriend. More eastern with the handlebar mustache/straw hat vibe. My aunt and uncle in Baltimore both sang in barber shop quartets. My aunt was in the Sweet Adelines, sang baritone. Aunt Doris smoked and drank whiskey. You know that voice. Uncle Ted sang tenor.

What I did yesterday is similar to what Paul did. Lost my job 1/21 and still trying to sign up for unemployment. I made the mistake of answering 'yes' to receiving benefits in the past. That was the only time I ever collected and it was in 1982. I was just being honest, should have answered 'no'. The system wouldn't allow me to register an account, kept asking me to log-in with username and password. They didn't have computers in '82!

I tried the live chat, automated was a joke. Live was hard to get through. 1st thing was press 1 for English. I'd push it and it would say "Press 3 to return to the menu", then ask to press 1 again, and again, and again! I pushed 1 rapidly several times as I yelled "I AM PUSHING 1 NOW!!! That got me over to automated chat . That was no help. Try again, same thing, this time pushing 1 several times and yelling got me live chat. No help, just came up with I had to call and speak with an agent.

So it has been all this time trying off and on to get through. Got through last Friday and came up with I need to treat it as fraud to go back to that first question. I had to take pictures of both sides of driver lic, ss card, and birth cert to e-mail in. Did that Sunday. Been trying all week, off and on, to get a call through. Finally get someone on Thursday, told her I had sent that e-mail, and she asked me for all my info. Turns out I had an account registered 5/21 already using all my info but from a different e-mail. I had my identity stolen! It actually is a fraud case.

Next I had to call the fraud hotline. Dial, send, phone indicates calling a long time, then call ended w/o a ring. Ok, this is going to be fun. I decided to take a ride out to an antique mall so I could spend the day looking at cool stuff while repeatedly dialing. My house has a poor signal that sticks me in a chair by the window. I have three choices, actually. That's why I took the drive, where I knew a good signal would be maintained.

With phone on the seat, I'd tap the fraud hotline number, send, then speaker. Wait till call ended, do it again. After 23 attempts someone picked up, so I pulled over to complete the call. They are now in the process of clearing this up so I can finally register an account. They can't say how long this will take, not expecting quick results. I'm waiting till next week to try.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

That's a real pain the a$$. The extra unemployment they were giving out was like a giant Christmas present to skammers all over the world. There was fraud at unprecedented levels.
I love a good bar burger. Sometimes you find great food in the darnedest places.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I met my new neighbor today.

I never do the OMG thing. BUT OMG! This woman is certifiably nuts.

She stands in her yard and fights with people. But no one is there. It's just her screaming at the voices in her head.

She has never said hello. We were on our deck and she started screaming at us. Not complaining about anything that we were doing. Just yelling about her problems. What the hell am I supposed to do??

I need to build a big wall and build it quick. Because this b^tch is crazy.

Just my luck.

I really love the new place. I love the big deck in front. My biggest problem is in moving itself. It's a pain. Thankfully the guy left the appliances and couches that are all like new, so I caught a break there. But I still have to move my Kamado grill which weighs a ton, and my big Weber that also weighs a ton. And I have to go up stairs to put them on the deck. I'm not looking forward to that.

The woman next door really doesn't bother me. She rarely comes out of her house, and when she does all she does is yell at herself or her car.

And my wife bought new patio furniture. And guess what? It all has to be assembled. Take a wild stab in the dark as to who got that job? But it will be worth it when I'm done.

Today I had planned on checking out a 1973 International pickup. But my wife took the Jeep to work and I was at my house in Wofford Heights. I hadn't been there in over 2 months and all my cars batteries were beyond dead. I hooked up my charger but I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. I didn't plan on being gone so long. Hopefully the old corn binder will still be there tomorrow, but if not it'll just be another one that got away.

The woman next door? If not, may I suggest? Like I said, free entertainment. Unless you want to pay her. "Stupid screw! All the others lined up just right! But No, not you! You just had to be difficult! If you had a butt I'd spank you!! Just get in that hole you stupid SOB!!"

I had a neighbor behind me for a while who was odd. Unlike your new neighbor woman, I never heard her speak. She was about my age and still lived at home. I only saw her when she skittered out the lane to the mailbox and back to the house. I do mean skittered, as if her life depended on making it out and back without seeing anyone. And more importantly, I'd guess, NO ONE SEEING HER! If I came out during one of her mailbox journeys she'd double up the pace. The color of her eyes was "straight ahead".

Good luck on the Binder. Those are handsome trucks in those years. I always wanted to own one, a 3/4t 4wd. I also like the earlier ones.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

So far 3 hours Chasing down a parasitic draw on my 05 Accord . It was the aftermarket start alarm unit. After cutting taping and checking I just ripped the whole damn piece of crap out. Heat shrinked all the areas they cut and spliced . Hooked it all back up draw went from .15 to .01 so now I shouldnt have to disconnect the battery anymore if it's going to sit more than 3 days .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I went to the market today. Actually I went to 3 markets today, and my wife went to one.

Why? You may ask.

Quick answer, I needed saltine crackers. I'm making Mexican Shrimp Cocktails for Superbowl. I've got to have saltines.

No one had them. The most common cracker on the planet and I can't get them.

They had all kinds of graham crackers, Goldfish, Triscut, Ritz and some weird ones.
BUT NO SALTINES!!!

This is a conspiracy. Someone is hoarding saltines. It's like the toilet paper thing all over again.
