Do you not have a heater anymore? Or is it just relocated?

My Engine Bay in 1984:
Here is the 327 out of a 1965 SS Impala.
Completely rebuilt.
Balanced
Carter 500 Cfm
1.94 Fuelie Heads.
2-1/2" Rams Horn Exhaust.
Mallory Unilite Ignition.

Here is a pic of it when I first bought it back earlier this year:
Feb/2012.

No heater yet. I will be going with something aftermarket. Definatly need A/C as my son wants to go to Route 66 in the truck. I might as well visit some friends in AZ while I am at it.

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

Does anyone have a picture of a stock, from the assembly line, picture of a 230? I am wanting to make mine look like it did coming off the assembly line. Curious about decals, colors, etc.

And to all the other posters with awesome engine bays! Damn mine has a long way to go.

Bret
Hi Bret. The quick answer is its really tight. I love the talls so I bought a set of Edlebrock valve covers before i ever bolted the motor in. Needless to say they wouldnt fit. I then bought a set of Mr Gasket polished cast tall valvcovers thinking with the cast taper there would be more clearance. I did get them on after the motor was in but you have to tilt the top of the valve cover toward the carb and rotate it down toward the exhaust manifold to get them on. after they were bolted on i had enough room for a piece of pater between the valve cover and the firewall. Even with solid motor mounts the motor torques enough they touched on the passenger side enough to put a wearmark in the paint. Last week i removed the valve covers and ground a small bevel on the back corner where they are close to the firewall. No more clearance issues and with everything buttoned up you cant see the modification.

Aura

want to see the rest of the truck! Great job with the ram air design.

Aura asked to see more pics. Heres a side shot, and the glovebox cover. The cover is a painting of a B-26 bomber making a bombing run over Germany during WWII.
My grandfather flew in the war, he also had a 65 tan pickup, and still had it in 91 when I was learining to drive. This truck reminds me of him and my childhood.

Absolutely beautiful work on the mural. I love the tribute to your Grandfather. Mine served in WWII in the Navy and was in Japan. I did a Veteran Tribute motorcycle to honor my Dad, who was a Vietnam Vet.

I also really love the pipes under the cab, how is that on sound and fumes? Thanks for sharing. Drive on with pride.

Hi Blue,

My side pipes are gone. way too loud up at highway RPMs plus I was worried about the kids getting burned on them (6 and 10 yrs old)

around town they sounded great. Thanks for the comments. Nice of you to do a trubute bike for your father.

Nice work with the LT1. Add the F body throttle linkage cover to finish off the look.

Goes on here:

You can get them at any GM dealer, and they come up on ebay, too (not mine, don't know the seller, etc):

I like it but it looks like the fuel rail covers may be in the way. The F bodies and caprice/roadmasters don't have them.
