Well, after the power washing...I moved into the cab....it has its' share of colors and shades of colors going on in there....

and some rust....

and overspray... (already cleaned up most of it in this pic)

So I started by removing the not-so-matching pair of visors...

VERY happy to see no rust up there...as I really didn't check this truck over much because it was a great deal...

Rearview mirror was dirty, rusty, and you couldn't see much through it with the glass being old...

So I dug one out of my parts' bin of mirrors...

Cleaned it up a bit, painted the metal and spray dyed the cover piece,

then added a set of visors I had already dyed a few weeks back as a test to how they'd come out....and instantly the interior was looking better.....

Then threw on a faded but free seat cover to cover the tears....and for now...it'll work

I have sold some...but Not even close to selling all of them....plus my garage and lower floor are devoted to parts for these trucks...

It's nice to go and grab parts as needed...the rearview mirror, the sunvisors, sunvisor clips, glovebox door latch, bench seat cover, and extra screws already used...and have the vent windows and a bunch of other parts I will be using soon!

Those plug wires and the twist tie holders cracked me up. Good luck with it. Looks pretty solid to me. On that gate, look through my build on my C-10 to see how I patched mine with almost the exact same rust.

The wires have to go...but It's hard for me to start messing with the truck when it's running so well right now. But eventually it'll get HEI with new plug wires....and no twist ties

I'll check it out...think I remember that tailgate repair...

Since this a shoestring budget, and I've got one of those builds also, heres a tip for the plug wires. HEI's are about $25 at the junkyard and worth it. If your wires are in good condition, just buy the HEI style ends and custom cut the wires yourself. And if your interested, I'll send you my old plug wire looms once I install my new ones. Theres a decent chance I have another HEI in the garage also.

yay new read. in his old thread he said he had gotten the brakes done, so the paint you sprayed on the door was teal? looked white to me. damn color blindness.

I actually have a skip white HEI waiting for it...just gotta get the plug wires...and I'll sell the points setup once I get the HEI running good to recoup some of the cost.

Yep, the brakes and wheel cylinders were re-done as well as a few lines as needed...

Here's another part I have....got it in a parts lot on here from a board member (forgot who) but it's a hurst shifter boot. the boot on this one is torn....and wasn't a hurst...kinda funny I got the shifter boot a few months back and now have the truck w/ the shifter to fit it

(Can't find the pic of the new boot right now---I will be replacing it when we patch the extra large hole around the shifter...no need to remove/replace it twice)

Okay...those pics came out REALLY bad...sorry....but it says hurst on the fender (kinda ghosted into the paint) and the shifter handle says hurst...I plan to clean it up, polish it, and then maybe fill the lettering with paint so it shows up better....

Thanks....I wish it had patina vs being multicolored

....but I can always make it look like it has patina too....just started thinking of that...

Factory upper rad hose? Or maybe an NOS replacement a few years ago?

And one other thing I accomplished...the push button on the glovebox door wasn't working. So I pried the glovebox door open then removed the button and installed one from my box-o-parts

Here's the after although it looks like the before

and here is the SPID I was finally able to look at. The factory owner's manual was in there. I also have the protecto plate and some cool written records of when the original owner changed the oil, filter, pcv, etc...

Oh, and in the spare parts picture I forgot the rust free driver's side door. Will take some time this week cleaning it up and painting then installing all nice bead blasted parts in the door.
