lockout hub?

bought some premium warn lockout hubs for my 84 1/2 ton chevy, took the old mile markers out and i had to remove the snap ring and washer that was behind the lock out hub, without removing that the ring would not seat in the grove and hold in the new hub. my question is are the hubs going to get f#@kd up without having that washer in there.

and the warn instructions said on 85 chevys you may have to remove the snap ring

Re: lockout hub?

i saw some posts where guys said to put a big screwdriver between the flange and the knuckle and push out and it gives you the room to put the washer in. I believe that was it anyways, let me try to find the quote. I know on the auto hubs they had a second snap ring that you have to remember to get, but you have milemarkers already.

Re: lockout hub?
